A rule of faith are you, and an icon of gentleness, and a teacher of self-control. And to your flock this was evident, by the truth of your life and deeds. Hermanos, ahora me alegro por los padecimientos que soporto por ustedes, y completo lo que falta a las tribulaciones de Cristo en mi carne, en favor de su cuerpo, que es la Iglesia, de la cual he llegado a ser ministro, conforme a la misión que Dios me concedió en orden a ustedes para dar cumplimiento a la palabra de Dios, al misterio escondido desde siglos y generaciones, y manifestado ahora a sus santos, a quienes Dios quiso dar a conocer cuál es la riqueza de la gloria de este misterio entre los gentiles, que es Cristo en ustedes, la esperanza de la gloria, al cual nosotros anunciamos, amonestando e instruyendo a todos los hombres con toda sabiduría, a fin de presentarlos a todos perfectos en Cristo. En aquel tiempo, uno de los discípulos tomó la palabra y le dijo: «Maestro, hemos visto a uno que expulsaba demonios en tu nombre y tratamos de impedírselo, porque no viene con nosotros.» Pero Jesús le contestó: «No se lo impidan, pues el que no está contra ustedes, está por ustedes.» Como se iban cumpliendo los días de su asunción, él se afirmó en su voluntad de ir a Jerusalén. Así que envió mensajeros por delante, que fueron y entraron en un pueblo de samaritanos para prepararle posada. Pero no lo recibieron, porque tenía intención de ir a Jerusalén. Ante la negativa, sus discípulos Santiago y Juan dijeron: «Señor, ¿quieres que mandemos bajar fuego del cielo y los consuma?» Pero Jesús se volvió y les reprendió; y se fueron a otro pueblo. At that time, one of Jesus’ disciples came to him and said, “Master, we saw a man casting out demons in your name, and we forbade him, because he does not follow with us.” But Jesus said to him, “Do not forbid him; for he that is not against you is for you.” When the days drew near for him to be received up, he set his face to go to Jerusalem. And he sent messengers ahead of him, who went and entered a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him; but the people would not receive him, because his face was set toward Jerusalem. And when his disciples James and John saw it, they said, “Lord, do you want us to bid fire come down from heaven and consume them as Elijah did?” But he turned and rebuked them and he said, “You do not know what manner of spirit you are of; for the Son of man came not to destroy men’s lives but to save them”. Digno es, en verdad, aclamarte a ti, Theotokos, la siempre bienaventurada e inmaculada, y Madre de nuestro Dios. A la más honorable que los querubines y más gloriosa, incomparablemente que los serafines; a ti, la que incorruptamente, diste a luz al Verbo de Dios, a la verdaderamente Theotokos, te exaltamos.
It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Logos. We magnify you, the true Theotokos.
