Pablo, apóstol de Cristo Jesús por voluntad de Dios, y Timoteo el hermano, a los santos de Colosas, hermanos fieles en Cristo. Gracia a ustedes y paz de parte de Dios, nuestro Padre. Cuando oramos, damos gracias sin cesar a Dios, Padre de nuestro Señor Jesús Cristo, por ustedes. Así se la enseñó Epafras, nuestro querido consiervo y fiel ministro de Cristo, en lugar nuestro, que nos informó también de su amor en el Espíritu. Dijo el Señor a sus discípulos: «Si alguno quiere venir en pos de mí, niéguese a sí mismo, tome su cruz cada día y sígame. Porque quien quiera salvar su vida, la perderá; pero quien pierda su vida por mí, la salvará. Pues ¿de qué le sirve al hombre haber ganado el mundo entero, si él mismo se pierde o se arruina? Porque quien se avergüence de mí y de mis palabras, también el Hijo del hombre se avergonzará de él cuando venga en su gloria, en la de su Padre y en la de los santos ángeles. «Pues de verdad les digo que algunos de los aquí presentes no gustarán la muerte hasta que vean el Reino de Dios.» [BJ-SAOGM]
The Lord said to his disciples, “If any man would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it; and whoever loses his life for my sake, he will save it. For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself? For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of man be ashamed when he comes in his glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Logos. We magnify you, the true Theotokos.
