Only-begotten Son and Logos of God, being immortal, You condescended for our salvation to take flesh from the holy Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary and, without change, became man. Christ, our God, You were crucified and conquered death by death. Being one of the Holy Trinity, glorified with the Father and the Holy Spirit: Save us.

Hermanos, alégrense en el Señor. A mí no me resulta molesto volver a escribirles las mismas cosas; en cambio, a ustedes les da seguridad. Atención con los perros; atención con los embusteros; atención con la mutilación. Tengan en cuenta que los verdaderos circuncisos somos nosotros, los que damos culto en el Espíritu de Dios y nos gloriamos en Cristo Jesús, sin poner nuestra confianza en la carne, aunque yo tengo motivos para confiar también en la carne. Si algún otro cree poder confiar en la carne, más yo. Fui circuncidado al octavo día; pertenezco al linaje de Israel, a la tribu de Benjamín; soy hebreo e hijo de hebreos; en cuanto a la Ley, fariseo; en cuanto al celo, perseguidor de la iglesia; en cuanto a la justicia que proporciona la Ley, intachable. Pero lo que antes consideré ganancia, lo tengo ahora por pérdida a causa de Cristo. [BJ-SAOGM]
Brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you is not irksome to me, and is safe for you. Look out for the dogs, look out for the evil-workers, look out for those who mutilate the flesh. For we are the true circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God, and glory in Christ Jesus, and put no confidence in the flesh. Though I myself have reason for confidence in the flesh also. If any other man thinks he has reason for confidence in the flesh, I have more: circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew born of Hebrews; as to the law a Pharisee, as to zeal a persecutor of the church, as to righteousness under the law blameless. But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as refuse, in order that I may gain Christ. [RSV]

En aquel tiempo, se enteró el tetrarca Herodes de todo lo que pasaba y estaba perplejo, porque unos decían que Juan había resucitado de entre los muertos; otros, que Elías se había aparecido, y otros, que uno de los antiguos profetas había resucitado. Herodes comentó: «Yo decapité a Juan. ¿Quién es, pues, éste de quien oigo tales cosas?» Y esperaba una ocasión para verle. Cuando los apóstoles regresaron, le contaron cuanto habían hecho. Él, tomándolos consigo, se retiró aparte, a una población llamada Betsaida. Pero la gente lo supo y le siguieron. Él los acogía, les hablaba del Reino de Dios y curaba a los que tenían necesidad de ser curados. [BJ-SAOGM]
At that time, Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done, and he was perplexed, because it was said by some that John had been raised from the dead, by some that Elijah had appeared, and by others that one of the old prophets had risen. Herod said, “John I beheaded; but who is this about whom I hear such things?” And he sought to see him. On their return the apostles told him what they had done. And he took them and withdrew apart to a city called Bethsaida. When the crowds learned it, they followed him; and he welcomed them and spoke to them of the kingdom of God, and cured those who had need of healing. [RSV]

Digno es, en verdad, aclamarte a ti, Theotokos, la siempre bienaventurada e inmaculada, y Madre de nuestro Dios. A la más honorable que los querubines y más gloriosa, incomparablemente que los serafines; a ti, la que incorruptamente, diste a luz al Verbo de Dios, a la verdaderamente Theotokos, te exaltamos.
It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Logos. We magnify you, the true Theotokos.
