Hermanos, manténganse firmes, inconmovibles, progresando siempre en la obra del Señor, conscientes de que su trabajo no es vano, si permanecen en el Señor. En cuanto a la colecta en favor de los santos, hagan también ustedes lo que mandé a las iglesias de Galacia: que, los primeros días de la semana, cada uno de ustedes deposite lo que haya podido ahorrar, de modo que no se hagan las colectas precisamente cuando llegue yo. Cuando me encuentre ahí, enviaré con cartas a los que hayan considerado dignos, para que lleven a Jerusalén su generosidad. [BJ-SAOGM]

En aquel tiempo, Jesús salió y vio a un publicano llamado Leví, sentado en el despacho de impuestos, y le dijo: «Sígueme.» Él, dejándolo todo, se levantó y le siguió. Leví le ofreció en su casa un gran banquete. Les acompañaban a la mesa un gran número de publicanos, aparte de otras personas. Los fariseos y sus escribas decían refunfuñando a los discípulos: «¿Por qué comen y beben con los publicanos y pecadores?» Les respondió Jesús: «No necesitan médico los que están sanos, sino los que están mal. No he venido a llamar a conversión a justos, sino a pecadores.» [BJ-SAOGM]
At that time, Jesus passed on and saw a tax collector, named Levi, sitting at the tax office; and he said to him, “Follow me.” And he left everything, and rose and followed him. And Levi made him a great feast in his house; and there was a large company of tax collectors and others sitting at table with them. And the Pharisees and their scribes murmured against his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” And Jesus answered them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick; I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” [RSV]

Digno es, en verdad, aclamarte a ti, Theotokos, la siempre bienaventurada e inmaculada, y Madre de nuestro Dios. A la más honorable que los querubines y más gloriosa, incomparablemente que los serafines; a ti, la que incorruptamente, diste a luz al Verbo de Dios, a la verdaderamente Theotokos, te exaltamos.
It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Logos. We magnify you, the true Theotokos.
