Only-begotten Son and Logos of God, being immortal, You condescended for our salvation to take flesh from the holy Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary and, without change, became man. Christ, our God, You were crucified and conquered death by death. Being one of the Holy Trinity, glorified with the Father and the Holy Spirit: Save us.

In you, O Father, is preserved undistorted what was made in the image of God; for taking up the cross, you followed Christ and by example taught, that we should overlook the flesh, since it passes away, and instead look after the soul, since it is immortal. Por aquellos días, había en Damasco un discípulo llamado Ananías. El Señor le llamó en una visión: «Ananías.» Él respondió: «Aquí estoy, Señor.» El Señor le dijo: «Prepárate y vete a la calle Recta. Una vez allí, pregunta en casa de Judas por uno de Tarso llamado Saulo. En este momento está en oración y ha visto que un hombre llamado Ananías entraba y le imponía las manos para recobrar la vista.» Respondió Ananías: «Señor, he oído a muchos hablar de ese hombre y de los muchos males que ha causado a tus santos en Jerusalén, y que aquí tiene poderes de los sumos sacerdotes para apresar a todos los que invocan tu nombre.» El Señor le respondió: «Vete, pues he elegido a éste como instrumento para llevar mi nombre a los gentiles, a los reyes y a los israelitas. Yo le mostraré cuánto tendrá que padecer por mi nombre.» Fue Ananías, entró en la casa, le impuso las manos y le dijo: «Saúl, hermano, me ha enviado a ti el Señor Jesús, el que se te apareció en el camino por donde venías, para que recobres la vista y te llenes del Espíritu Santo.» Al instante cayeron de sus ojos una especie de escamas y recobró la vista; se levantó y fue bautizado. In those days, there was a disciple at Damascus named Ananias. The Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias.” And he said, “Here I am, Lord.” And the Lord said to him, “Rise and go to the street called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judas for a man of Tarsus named Saul; for behold, he is praying, and he has seen a man named Ananias come in and lay his hands on him so that he might regain his sight.” But Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he has done to thy saints at Jerusalem; and here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call upon thy name.” But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen instrument of mine to carry my name before the Gentiles and kings and the sons of Israel; for I will show him how much he must suffer for the sake of my name.” So Ananias departed and entered the house. And laying his hands on him he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus who appeared to you on the road by which you came, has sent me that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” And immediately something like scales fell from his eyes and he regained his sight. En aquel tiempo, Jesús se fue al monte a rezar y se pasó la noche orando a Dios. Cuando se hizo de día, llamó a sus discípulos y eligió doce de entre ellos, a los que llamó también apóstoles: a Simón, a quien puso el nombre de Pedro, y a su hermano Andrés; a Santiago y Juan, a Felipe y Bartolomé, a Mateo y Tomás, a Santiago de Alfeo y Simón, llamado Zelota; a Judas de Santiago y a Judas Iscariote, que fue el traidor. Bajó con ellos y se detuvo en un paraje llano. Había allí un nutrido número de discípulos suyos y una gran muchedumbre llegada de toda Judea, de Jerusalén y de la región costera de Tiro y Sidón, que habían venido para oírle y ser curados de sus dolencias. Y los que eran molestados por espíritus inmundos quedaban curados. Toda la gente procuraba tocarle, porque salía de él una fuerza que sanaba a todos. [BJ-SAOGM]
At that time, Jesus went out to the mountain to pray; and all night he continued in prayer to God. And when it was day, he called his disciples, and chose from them twelve, whom he named apostles; Simon, whom he named Peter, and Andrew his brother, and James and John, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon who was called the Zealot, and Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor. And he came down with them and stood on a level place, with a great crowd of his disciples and a great multitude of people from all Judea and Jerusalem and the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases; and those who were troubled with unclean spirits were cured. And all the crowd sought to touch him, for power came forth from him and healed them all. [RSV]

Ὕμνος εἰς τὴν Θεοτόκον.
Digno es, en verdad, aclamarte a ti, Theotokos, la siempre bienaventurada e inmaculada, y Madre de nuestro Dios. A la más honorable que los querubines y más gloriosa, incomparablemente que los serafines; a ti, la que incorruptamente, diste a luz al Verbo de Dios, a la verdaderamente Theotokos, te exaltamos.
It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Logos. We magnify you, the true Theotokos.

We have seen the true light; we have received the heavenly Spirit; we have found the true faith, worshiping the undivided Trinity, for the Trinity has saved us.

May Christ our true God, through the intercessions of His all-pure and all-immaculate holy Mother, the power of the precious and life-giving Cross, the protection of the honorable, bodiless powers of heaven, the supplications of the honorable, glorious prophet and forerunner John the Baptist, of the holy, glorious, and praiseworthy apostles, of the holy, glorious, and triumphant martyrs, of our righteous and God-bearing fathers, (local patron saint); of the holy and righteous ancestors of God Joachim and Anna, the holy Apostle Ananias, and our devout father Romanos the Melodist, whose memory we observe, and of all the saints, have mercy on us and save us, as He is good, benevolent, and merciful God.
