Only-begotten Son and Logos of God, being immortal, You condescended for our salvation to take flesh from the holy Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary and, without change, became man. Hermanos, en Cristo tenemos por medio de su sangre la redención, el perdón de los delitos, según la riqueza de su gracia que ha prodigado sobre nosotros en toda sabiduría e inteligencia, dándonos a conocer el misterio de su voluntad según el benévolo designio que en él se propuso de antemano, para realizarlo en la plenitud de los tiempos: hacer que todo tenga a Cristo por cabeza, lo que está en los cielos y lo que está en la tierra. A él, por quien somos herederos, elegidos de antemano según el previo designio del que realiza todo conforme a la decisión de su voluntad, para ser nosotros alabanza de su gloria, los que ya antes esperábamos en Cristo. En él también ustedes. tras haber oído la Palabra de la verdad, el Evangelio de su salvación, y creído también en él, fueron sellados con el Espíritu Santo de la promesa, que es prenda de nuestra herencia, para la redención del pueblo de su posesión, para alabanza de su gloria. Brethren, we have redemption through the blood of Christ, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace which he lavished upon us. For he has made known to us in all wisdom and insight the mystery of his will, according to his purpose which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth. In him, according to the purpose of him who accomplishes all things according to the counsel of his will, we who first hoped in Christ have been destined and appointed to live for the praise of his glory. In him you also, who have heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and have believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, which is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory. Por aquellos días, habiendo de nuevo mucha gente y no teniendo qué comer, llama Jesús a sus discípulos y les dice: «Siento compasión de esta gente, porque hace ya tres días que permanecen conmigo y no tienen qué comer. Si los despido en ayunas a sus casas, desfallecerán en el camino, y algunos de ellos han venido de lejos.» Sus discípulos le respondieron: «¿Cómo podrá alguien saciar de pan a éstos aquí en el desierto?» Él les preguntaba: «¿Cuántos panes tienen?» Ellos le respondieron: «Siete.» Entonces él mandó a la gente acomodarse sobre la tierra y, tomando los siete panes y dando gracias, los partió e iba dándolos a sus discípulos para que los sirvieran, y ellos los sirvieron a la gente. Tenían también unos pocos pececillos. Y, pronunciando la bendición sobre ellos, mandó que también los sirvieran. Comieron y se saciaron, y recogieron de los trozos sobrantes siete canastas. At that time, when again a great crowd had gathered, and they had nothing to eat, he called his disciples to him, and said to them, “I have compassion on the crowd, because they have been with me now three days, and have nothing to eat; and if I send them away hungry to their homes, they will faint on the way; and some of them have come a long way.” And his disciples answered him, “How can one feed these men with bread here in the desert?” And he asked them, “How many loaves have you?” They said, “Seven.” And he commanded the crowd to sit down on the ground; and he took the seven loaves, and having given thanks he broke them and gave them to his disciples to set before the people; and they set them before the crowd. And they had a few small fish; and having blessed them, he commanded that these also should be set before them. And they ate, and were satisfied; and they took up the broken pieces left over, seven baskets full. And there were about four thousand people. And he sent them away; and immediately he got into the boat with his disciples, and went to the district of Dalmanutha. [RSV]

Digno es, en verdad, aclamarte a ti, Theotokos, la siempre bienaventurada e inmaculada, y Madre de nuestro Dios. A la más honorable que los querubines y más gloriosa, incomparablemente que los serafines; a ti, la que incorruptamente, diste a luz al Verbo de Dios, a la verdaderamente Theotokos, te exaltamos.
It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Logos. We magnify you, the true Theotokos.
