Only-begotten Son and Logos of God, being immortal, You condescended for our salvation to take flesh from the holy Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary and, without change, became man. Pablo, apóstol de Cristo Jesús por voluntad de Dios, a los santos y fieles en Cristo Jesús. Gracia a ustedes y paz de parte de Dios, nuestro Padre, y del Señor Jesús Cristo. Bendito sea el Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesús Cristo, pues, por estar unidos a Cristo, nos ha colmado de toda clase de bendiciones espirituales, en los cielos. Dios nos ha elegido en él antes de la fundación del mundo, para que vivamos ante él santamente y sin defecto alguno, en el amor. Nos ha elegido de antemano para ser sus hijos adoptivos por medio de Jesús Cristo, porque así lo quiso voluntariamente, para que alabemos su gloriosa benevolencia, con la que nos agració en el Amado. Por medio de su sangre conseguimos la redención, el perdón de los delitos, gracias a la inmensa benevolencia que ha prodigado sobre nosotros, concediéndonos todo tipo de sabiduría y conocimiento. En aquel tiempo, Jesús se fue a la región de Tiro, y entrando en una casa quería que nadie lo supiera, pero no logró pasar inadvertido, sino que, en seguida, habiendo oído hablar de él una mujer, cuya hija estaba poseída de un espíritu inmundo, vino y se postró a sus pies. Esta mujer era griega, sirofenicia de nacimiento, y le rogaba que expulsara de su hija al demonio. Él le decía: «Espera que primero se sacien los hijos, pues no está bien tomar el pan de los hijos y echárselo a los perritos.» Mas ella le respondió: «Sí, Señor; pero también los perritos comen bajo la mesa migajas de los niños.» Él, entonces, le dijo: «Por lo que has dicho, vete; el demonio ha salido de tu hija.» Volvió a su casa y encontró que la niña estaba echada en la cama y que el demonio se había ido. At that time, Jesus went away to the region of Tyre and Sidon. And he entered a house, and would not have any one know it; yet he could not be hid. But immediately a woman, whose little daughter was possessed by an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell down at his feet. Now the woman was a Greek, a Syrophoenician by birth. And she begged him to cast the demon out of her daughter. And he said to her, “Let the children first be fed, for it is not right to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.” But she answered him, “Yes, Lord; yet even the dogs under the table eat the children’s crumbs.” And he said to her, “For this saying you may go your way; the demon has left your daughter.” And she went home, and found the child lying in bed, and the demon gone. Digno es, en verdad, aclamarte a ti, Theotokos, la siempre bienaventurada e inmaculada, y Madre de nuestro Dios. A la más honorable que los querubines y más gloriosa, incomparablemente que los serafines; a ti, la que incorruptamente, diste a luz al Verbo de Dios, a la verdaderamente Theotokos, te exaltamos.
It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Logos. We magnify you, the true Theotokos.
