Only-begotten Son and Logos of God, being immortal, You condescended for our salvation to take flesh from the holy Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary and, without change, became man. Christ, our God, You were crucified and conquered death by death. Being one of the Holy Trinity, glorified with the Father and the Holy Spirit: Save us.

Hermanos, Abrahán tuvo dos hijos: uno de la esclava y otro de la libre. Pues bien, el de la esclava nació según la naturaleza; el de la libre, en cambio, en virtud de la promesa. Y aquí se percibe un sentido alegórico. Estas mujeres representan dos alianzas: la primera, la del monte Sinaí, está simbolizada por Agar, madre de los esclavos (pues el monte Sinaí está en Arabia), y corresponde a la Jerusalén actual, que es esclava, lo mismo que sus hijos. Pero la Jerusalén de arriba, que es libre, es nuestra madre, pues dice la Escritura: ‘Regocíjate estéril, la que no dabas hijos. Rompe en gritos de júbilo, la que no conocías los dolores de parto, que más son los hijos de la abandonada que los de la casada.’ [BJ-SAOGM]
Brethren, Abraham had two sons, one by a slave and one by a free woman. But the son of the slave was born according to the flesh, the son of the free woman through promise. Now this is an allegory: these women are two covenants. One is from Mount Sinai, bearing children for slavery; she is Hagar. Now Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia; she corresponds to the present Jerusalem, for she is in slavery with her children. But the Jerusalem above is free, and she is our mother. For it is written, “Rejoice, O barren one who does not bear; break forth and shout, you who are not in travail; for the children of the desolate one are many more than the children of her that is married.” [RSV]

Pues nada hay oculto que no quede manifiesto, y nada secreto que no acabe siendo conocido y descubierto. Miren, pues, cómo oyen; porque al que tenga se le dará, pero al que no tenga se le quitará hasta lo que cree tener.» Se le presentaron su madre y sus hermanos, pero no podían llegar hasta él a causa de la gente. The Lord said, “No one after lighting a lamp covers it with a vessel, or puts it under a bed, but puts it on a stand, that those who enter may see the light. A la más honorable que los querubines y más gloriosa, incomparablemente que los serafines; a ti, la que incorruptamente, diste a luz al Verbo de Dios, a la verdaderamente Theotokos, te exaltamos.
It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Logos. We magnify you, the true Theotokos.
