Only-begotten Son and Logos of God, being immortal, You condescended for our salvation to take flesh from the holy Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary and, without change, became man. Christ, our God, You were crucified and conquered death by death. Being one of the Holy Trinity, glorified with the Father and the Holy Spirit: Save us.

Hermanos, cuando vino Cefas a Antioquía, me enfrenté con él cara a cara, porque era censurable. Pues antes que llegaran algunos de parte de Santiago, comía en compañía de los gentiles; pero una vez que aquéllos llegaron, empezó a evitarlos y apartarse de ellos por miedo a los circuncisos. Y los demás judíos disimularon como él, hasta el punto de que el mismo Bernabé se vio arrastrado a la simulación. Pero en cuanto vi que no procedían rectamente, conforme a la verdad del Evangelio, dije a Cefas en presencia de todos: «Si tú, siendo judío, vives como gentil y no como judío, ¿cómo obligas a los gentiles a vivir como judíos? Nosotros somos judíos de nacimiento y no gentiles pecadores; a pesar de todo, conscientes de que el hombre no se justifica por las obras de la ley sino por la fe en Jesús Cristo, también nosotros hemos creído en Cristo Jesús a fin de conseguir la justificación por la fe en Cristo, y no por las obras de la ley, pues por las obras de la ley nadie será justificado. Brethren, when Peter came to Antioch I opposed him to his face, because he stood condemned. For before certain men came from James, he ate with the Gentiles; but when they came he drew back and separated himself, fearing the circumcision party. And with him the rest of the Jews acted insincerely, so that even Barnabas was carried away by their insincerity. But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them all, “if you, though a Jew, live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how can you compel the Gentiles to live like Jews?” We ourselves, who are Jews by birth and not Gentile sinners, yet who know that a man is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ, and not by works of the law, because by works of the law shall no one be justified. En aquel tiempo, a Jesús le seguía un gran gentío que lo oprimía. Había una mujer que padecía flujo de sangre desde hacía doce años, y que había sufrido mucho con numerosos médicos. Había gastado todos sus bienes sin encontrar alivio; al contrario, había ido a peor. Sabedora de lo que se decía de Jesús, se acercó por detrás entre la gente y tocó su manto. Y es que pensaba: «Si logro tocar aunque sólo sea sus vestidos, me salvaré.» Inmediatamente se le detuvo la hemorragia y sintió en su cuerpo que quedaba sana del mal. Al instante Jesús, dándose cuenta de la fuerza que había salido de él, se volvió entre la gente y preguntó: «¿Quién me ha tocado los vestidos?» Sus discípulos le contestaron: «Estás viendo que la gente te oprime, ¿y preguntas quién te ha tocado?» Pero él miraba a su alrededor para descubrir a la que lo había hecho. Entonces, la mujer, viendo lo que le había sucedido, se acercó atemorizada y temblorosa, se postró ante él y le contó toda la verdad. Él le dijo: «Hija, tu fe te ha salvado. Vete en paz y queda curada de tu enfermedad.» [BJ-SAOGM]
At that time, a great crowd followed Jesus and thronged about him. And there was a woman who had had a flow of blood for twelve years, and who had suffered much under many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was no better but rather grew worse. She had heard the reports about Jesus, and came up behind him in the crowd and touched his garment. For she said, “If I touch even his garments, I shall be made well.” And immediately the hemorrhage ceased; and she felt in her body that she was healed of her disease. And Jesus, perceiving in himself that power had gone forth from him, immediately turned about in the crowd, and said, “Who touched my garments?” And his disciples said to him, “You see the crowd pressing around you, and yet you say, ‘Who touched me?’” And he looked around to see who had done it. But the woman, knowing what had been done to her, came in fear and trembling and fell down before him, and told him the whole truth. And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well; go in peace, and be healed of your disease.” [RSV]

Digno es, en verdad, aclamarte a ti, Theotokos, la siempre bienaventurada e inmaculada, y Madre de nuestro Dios. A la más honorable que los querubines y más gloriosa, incomparablemente que los serafines; a ti, la que incorruptamente, diste a luz al Verbo de Dios, a la verdaderamente Theotokos, te exaltamos.
It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Logos. We magnify you, the true Theotokos.
