Only-begotten Son and Logos of God, being immortal, You condescended for our salvation to take flesh from the holy Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary and, without change, became man. Christ, our God, You were crucified and conquered death by death. Being one of the Holy Trinity, glorified with the Father and the Holy Spirit: Save us.

Hermanos, sabemos que en todas las cosas interviene Dios para bien de los que le aman, de aquellos que han sido llamados según su designio. Pues Dios predestinó a reproducir la imagen de su Hijo a los que conoció de antemano, para que así fuera su Hijo el primogénito entre muchos hermanos. Y a los que predestinó, también los llamó; y a los que llamó, también los hizo justos; y a los que hizo justos, también los glorificó. Ante esto, ¿qué podemos decir? Si Dios está por nosotros, ¿quién estará contra nosotros? Si Él no perdonó ni a su propio Hijo (antes bien lo entregó por todos nosotros), ¿cómo no va a darnos con él gratuitamente todas las cosas? ¿Quién acusará a los elegidos de Dios? Dios es quien justifica. ¿Quién condenará? ¿Acaso Cristo Jesús, que murió; más aún, que resucitó, que está a la diestra de Dios y que intercede por nosotros? ¿Quién nos separará del amor de Cristo? ¿La tribulación?, ¿la angustia?, ¿la persecución?, ¿el hambre?, ¿la desnudez?, ¿los peligros?, ¿la espada? Como dice la Escritura: “Por ti nos matan cada día, nos tratan como a ovejas de matadero.” Pero en todo esto salimos más que vencedores gracias a aquel que nos amó. Pues estoy seguro de que ni la muerte ni la vida, ni los ángeles ni los principados, ni lo presente ni lo futuro, ni las potestades, ni la altura ni la profundidad, ni cualquier otra criatura podrá separarnos del amor de Dios manifestado en Cristo Jesús Señor nuestro. Brethren, we know that in everything God works for good with those who love him, who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the first-born among many brethren. And those whom he predestined he also called; and those whom he called he also justified; and those whom he justified he also glorified. What then shall we say to this? If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, will he not also give us all things with him? Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies; who is to condemn? Is it Christ Jesus, who died, yes, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who indeed intercedes for us? Dijo el Señor a sus discípulos: «Pasemos a la otra orilla.» Despiden a la gente y le llevan en la barca, como estaba; e iban otras barcas con él. En esto, se levantó una fuerte borrasca y las olas irrumpían en la barca, de suerte que ya se anegaba la barca. Él estaba en popa, durmiendo sobre un cabezal. Le despiertan y le dicen: «Maestro, ¿no te importa que perezcamos?» Él, habiéndose despertado, increpó al viento y dijo al mar: «¡Calla, enmudece!» El viento se calmó y sobrevino una gran calma. Y les dijo: «¿Por qué están con tanto miedo? ¿Cómo no tienen fe?» Ellos se llenaron de gran temor y se decían unos a otros: «Pues ¿quién es éste que hasta el viento y el mar le obedecen?» [BJ-SAOGM]
The Lord said to his disciples, “Let us go across to the other side.” And leaving the crowd, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. And other boats were with him. And a great storm of wind arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that the boat was already filling. But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke him and said to him, “Teacher, do you not care if we perish?” And he awoke and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He said to them, “Why are you afraid? Have you no faith?” And they were filled with awe, and said to one another, “Who then is this, that even wind and sea obey him?” [RSV]

Digno es, en verdad, aclamarte a ti, Theotokos, la siempre bienaventurada e inmaculada, y Madre de nuestro Dios. A la más honorable que los querubines y más gloriosa, incomparablemente que los serafines; a ti, la que incorruptamente, diste a luz al Verbo de Dios, a la verdaderamente Theotokos, te exaltamos.
It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Logos. We magnify you, the true Theotokos.
