Only-begotten Son and Logos of God, being immortal, You condescended for our salvation to take flesh from the holy Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary and, without change, became man. Christ, our God, You were crucified and conquered death by death. Being one of the Holy Trinity, glorified with the Father and the Holy Spirit: Save us.

Hermanos, miren quiénes han sido llamados. No hay muchos sabios según la carne ni muchos poderosos ni muchos de la nobleza. Dios ha escogido más bien a los que el mundo tiene por necios para confundir a los sabios; y ha elegido a los débiles del mundo para confundir a los fuertes. Dios ha escogido lo plebeyo y despreciable del mundo; lo que no es, para reducir a la nada lo que es. De ese modo, ningún mortal podrá alardear de nada ante Dios. De él les viene que estén en Cristo Jesús, al cual hizo Dios para nosotros sabiduría de Dios, justicia, santificación y redención, a fin de que, como dice la Escritura: ‘El que se gloríe, gloríese en el Señor’. Yo mismo, hermanos, cuando fui donde ustedes a anunciarles el misterio de Dios, no confié mi mensaje al prestigio de la palabra o de la sabiduría, pues sólo quería manifestarles mi saber acerca de Jesús Cristo, y además crucificado. Y me presenté ante ustedes débil, tímido y tembloroso, apoyando mi palabra y mi predicación no en persuasivos discursos de sabiduría, sino en la demostración del Espíritu y de su poder, para que su fe no se fundase en la sabiduría humana, sino en el poder de Dios. Brethren, consider your call; not many of you were wise according to worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth; but God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise, God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong, God chose what is low and despised in the world, even things that are not, to bring to nothing things that are, so that no human being might boast in the presence of God. He is the source of your life in Christ Jesus, whom God made our wisdom, our righteousness and sanctification and redemption; therefore, as it is written, “Let him who boasts, boast in the Lord.” When I came to you, brethren, I did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God in lofty words or wisdom. For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness and in much fear and trembling; and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. En aquel tiempo, cuando salía Jesús de Jericó, le siguió una gran muchedumbre. En esto, dos ciegos que estaban sentados junto al camino, al enterarse que Jesús pasaba, se pusieron a gritar: «¡Señor, ten compasión de nosotros, Hijo de David!» La gente les increpó para que se callaran, pero ellos gritaron más fuerte: «¡Señor, ten compasión de nosotros, Hijo de David!» Entonces Jesús se detuvo, los llamó y dijo: «¿Qué quieren que les haga?» Le dicen: «¡Señor, que se abran nuestros ojos!» Movido a compasión Jesús tocó sus ojos, y al instante recobraron la vista; y le siguieron. At that time, as Jesus went out of Jericho, a great crowd followed him. And behold, two blind men sitting by the roadside, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!” The crowd rebuked them, telling them to be silent; but they cried out the more, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!” And Jesus stopped and called them, saying, “What do you want me to do for you?” They said to him, “Lord, let our eyes be opened.” And Jesus in pity touched their eyes, and immediately they received their sight and followed him. Digno es, en verdad, aclamarte a ti, Theotokos, la siempre bienaventurada e inmaculada, y Madre de nuestro Dios. A la más honorable que los querubines y más gloriosa, incomparablemente que los serafines; a ti, la que incorruptamente, diste a luz al Verbo de Dios, a la verdaderamente Theotokos, te exaltamos.
It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Logos. We magnify you, the true Theotokos.

We have seen the true light; we have received the heavenly Spirit; we have found the true faith, worshiping the undivided Trinity, for the Trinity has saved us.
