Only-begotten Son and Logos of God, being immortal, You condescended for our salvation to take flesh from the holy Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary and, without change, became man. Hermanos, Cristo murió por todos, para que los que viven ya no vivan para sí, sino para aquel que murió y resucitó por ellos. Así que, en adelante, ya no enjuiciamos a nadie según criterios humanos; y si enjuiciamos a Cristo según tales criterios, ahora ya no lo enjuiciamos así. Lo digo porque el que está en Cristo es una nueva creación; pasó lo viejo, todo es nuevo. Y todo proviene de Dios, que nos reconcilió consigo por Cristo y nos confió el ministerio de la reconciliación. En efecto, Dios estaba reconciliando al mundo consigo por medio de Cristo, no tomando en cuenta las transgresiones de los hombres, al tiempo que nos confiaba la palabra de la reconciliación. Somos, pues, embajadores de Cristo, como si Dios exhortara por medio de nosotros. En nombre de Cristo les suplicamos: ¡reconcíliense con Dios! A Cristo, que no conoció pecado, lo hizo pecado por nosotros, para que viniésemos a ser justicia de Dios en él. [BJ-SAOGM]
Brethren, Christ died for all, that those who live might live no longer for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised. From now on, therefore, we regard no one from a human point of view; even though we once regarded Christ from a human point of view, we regard him thus no longer. Therefore, if any one is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Jesus Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. So we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We beseech you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. [RSV]

En aquel tiempo, bordeando el mar de Galilea, Jesús vio a Simón y Andrés, el hermano de Simón, largando las redes en el mar, pues eran pescadores. Jesús les dijo: «Vengan conmigo, y les haré llegar a ser pescadores de hombres.» Al instante, dejando las redes, lo siguieron. Caminando un poco más adelante, vio a Santiago, el de Zebedeo, y a su hermano Juan; estaban también en la barca arreglando las redes; y al instante los llamó. Y ellos, dejando a su padre Zebedeo en la barca con los jornaleros, se fueron tras él. Llegan a Cafarnaún. Al llegar el sábado entró en la sinagoga y se puso a enseñar. At that time, passing along by the Sea of Galilee, Jesus saw Simon and Andrew the brother of Simon casting a net in the sea; for they were fishermen. And Jesus said to them, “Follow me and I will make you become fishers of men.” And immediately they left their nets and followed him. And going on a little farther, he saw James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, who were in their boats mending the nets. And immediately he called them; and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the hired servants, and followed him. And they went into Capernaum; and immediately on the sabbath he entered the synagogue and taught. And they were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as one who had authority, and not as the scribes. [RSV]

Digno es, en verdad, aclamarte a ti, Theotokos, la siempre bienaventurada e inmaculada, y Madre de nuestro Dios. A la más honorable que los querubines y más gloriosa, incomparablemente que los serafines; a ti, la que incorruptamente, diste a luz al Verbo de Dios, a la verdaderamente Theotokos, te exaltamos.
It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Logos. We magnify you, the true Theotokos.
