Only-begotten Son and Logos of God, being immortal, You condescended for our salvation to take flesh from the holy Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary and, without change, became man. Hermanos, es necesario que todos nosotros comparezcamos ante el tribunal de Cristo, para que cada cual reciba conforme a lo que hizo durante su vida mortal, el bien o el mal. Por tanto, conociendo el temor del Señor, tratamos de persuadir a los hombres, pues ante Dios estamos al descubierto, como espero que ante sus conciencias también estemos al descubierto. No volvemos a recomendarnos ante ustedes; solamente queremos darles ocasión para gloriarse de nosotros y así tengan de qué responder a los que se glorían de lo exterior, y no de lo que está en el corazón. En efecto, si hemos perdido el juicio, ha sido por Dios; y si somos sensatos, lo es por ustedes. Porque el amor de Cristo nos apremia al pensar que, si uno murió por todos, todos por tanto murieron. Y murió por todos, para que ya no vivan para sí los que viven, sino para aquel que murió y resucitó por ellos. [BJ-SAOGM]
Brethren, we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive good or evil, according to what he has done in the body. Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade men; but what we are is known to God, and I hope it is known also to your conscience. We are not commending ourselves to you again but giving you cause to be proud of us, so that you may be able to answer those who pride themselves on a man’s position and not on his heart. For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. En aquel tiempo, vino Jesús desde Nazaret de Galilea, y fue bautizado por Juan en el Jordán. En cuanto salió del agua, vio que los cielos se rasgaban y que el Espíritu, en forma de paloma, bajaba sobre él. Entonces se oyó una voz que venía de los cielos: «Tú eres mi Hijo amado; en ti me complazco.» A continuación, el Espíritu lo empujó al desierto, y permaneció allí cuarenta días, siendo tentado por Satanás. Estaba entre los animales del campo y los ángeles le servían. Después que Juan fuese entregado, marchó Jesús a Galilea; y proclamaba la Buena Nueva de Dios: «El tiempo se ha cumplido y el Reino de Dios ha llegado; conviértanse y crean en la Buena Nueva.» [BJ-SAOGM]
In those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. And when h came up out of the water, immediately he saw the heavens opened and the Spirit descending upon him like a dove; and a voice came from heaven, “You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased.” The Spirit immediately drove him out into the wilderness. And he was in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan; and he was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered to him. Now after John was arrested, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe in the gospel.” [RSV]

Digno es, en verdad, aclamarte a ti, Theotokos, la siempre bienaventurada e inmaculada, y Madre de nuestro Dios. A la más honorable que los querubines y más gloriosa, incomparablemente que los serafines; a ti, la que incorruptamente, diste a luz al Verbo de Dios, a la verdaderamente Theotokos, te exaltamos.
It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Logos. We magnify you, the true Theotokos.
