Only-begotten Son and Logos of God, being immortal, You condescended for our salvation to take flesh from the holy Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary and, without change, became man. Hermanos, ¡nadie se engañe! Si alguno entre ustedes se cree sabio según este mundo, vuélvase loco, para llegar a ser sabio; pues la sabiduría de este mundo es locura a los ojos de Dios. En efecto, dice la Escritura: El que enreda a los sabios en su propia astucia. Y también: El Señor conoce cuán vanos son los pensamientos de los sabios. En aquel tiempo, al entrar Jesús en la casa, se le acercaron sus discípulos diciendo: «Explícanos la parábola de la cizaña del campo.» Él respondió: «El que siembra la buena semilla es el Hijo del hombre; el campo es el mundo; la buena semilla son los hijos del Reino; la cizaña son los hijos del Maligno; el enemigo que la sembró es el diablo; la siega es el fin del mundo, y los segadores son los ángeles. De la misma manera, pues, que se recoge la cizaña y se la quema en el fuego, así será al fin del mundo. El Hijo del hombre enviará a sus ángeles, que recogerán de su Reino todos los escándalos y a los malhechores, y los arrojarán en el horno de fuego; allí será el llanto y el rechinar de dientes. At that time, Jesus went into the house. Just as the weeds are gathered and burned with fire, so will it be at the close of the age. The Son of man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all causes of sin and all evildoers, and throw them into the furnace of fire; there men will weep and gnash their teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” [RSV]

Digno es, en verdad, aclamarte a ti, Theotokos, la siempre bienaventurada e inmaculada, y Madre de nuestro Dios. A la más honorable que los querubines y más gloriosa, incomparablemente que los serafines; a ti, la que incorruptamente, diste a luz al Verbo de Dios, a la verdaderamente Theotokos, te exaltamos.
It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Logos. We magnify you, the true Theotokos.
