Hermanos, les ruego que se guarden de los que suscitan divisiones y escándalos contra la doctrina que han aprendido. Apártense de ellos, pues esos tales no sirven a nuestro Señor Jesús Cristo, sino a su propio vientre, y, por medio de suaves palabras y lisonjas, seducen los corazones de los sencillos. La noticia de lo bien que han acogido y viven la fe se ha divulgado por todas partes. Y me alegro por ustedes. Pero quiero que sean sensatos para el bien e inmunes para el mal; y el Dios de la paz aplastará bien pronto a Satanás bajo sus pies. La gracia de nuestro Señor Jesús Cristo sea con ustedes. En aquel tiempo, los discípulos de Jesús se acercaron y le preguntaron: «¿Por qué les hablas en parábolas?» Él les respondió: «Es que a ustedes se les ha concedido conocer los misterios del Reino de los Cielos, pero a ellos no. Porque a quien tiene se le dará y le sobrará; pero a quien no tiene se le quitará hasta lo que tiene. Por eso les hablo en parábolas, porque mirando no ven, y oyendo no oyen ni entienden. En ellos se cumple la profecía de Isaías: ‘Oír, oirán, pero no entenderán; mirar, mirarán, pero no verán. Porque se ha embotado el corazón de este pueblo, han hecho duros sus oídos y han cerrado sus ojos; no sea que vean con sus ojos, con sus oídos oigan, con su corazón entiendan y se conviertan, y yo los sane.’ ¡Pero dichosos sus ojos, porque ven, y sus oídos, porque oyen! Pues les aseguro que muchos profetas y justos desearon ver lo que ustedes ven, pero no lo vieron; y oír lo que ustedes oyen, pero no lo oyeron. Ustedes, pues, escuchen la parábola del sembrador. Cuando alguien oye la palabra del Reino y no la comprende, viene el Maligno y arrebata lo sembrado en su corazón: éste es el que fue sembrado a lo largo del camino. El que fue sembrado en pedregal es el que oye la palabra y de momento la recibe con alegría, pero, como no tiene raíz en sí mismo, por ser inconstante, sucumbe en seguida, en cuanto se presenta una tribulación o persecución por causa de la palabra. El que fue sembrado entre los abrojos es el que oye la palabra, pero las preocupaciones del mundo y la seducción de las riquezas sofocan la palabra, que queda sin fruto. Y el que fue sembrado en tierra buena es el que oye la palabra y la entiende; éste sí que da fruto y produce: uno ciento, otro sesenta, otro treinta. El que tenga oídos, que oiga.» [BJ-SAOGM]
At that time, Jesus'' disciples came and said to him, “Why do you speak to them in parables?” And he answered them, “To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given. For to him who has will more be given, and he will have abundance; but from him who has not, even what he has will be taken away. This is why I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand. With them indeed is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah which says: ‘You shall indeed hear but never understand, and you shall indeed see but never perceive. For this people’s heart has grown dull, and their ears are heavy of hearing, and their eyes they have closed, lest they should perceive with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn for me to heal them.’ But blessed are your eyes, for they see and your ears, for they hear. Truly, I say to you, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it. Hear then the parable of the sower. When any one hears the word of the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what is sown in his heart; this is what was sown along the path. As for what was sown on rocky ground, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while, and when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately he falls away. As for what was sown among thorns, this is he who hears the word, but the cares of the world and the delight in riches choke the word, and it proves unfruitful. As for what was sown on good soil, this is he who hears the word and understands it; he indeed bears fruit, and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” [RSV]

Digno es, en verdad, aclamarte a ti, Theotokos, la siempre bienaventurada e inmaculada, y Madre de nuestro Dios. A la más honorable que los querubines y más gloriosa, incomparablemente que los serafines; a ti, la que incorruptamente, diste a luz al Verbo de Dios, a la verdaderamente Theotokos, te exaltamos.
It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Logos. We magnify you, the true Theotokos.
