Por aquellos días, al ver Simón que mediante la imposición de las manos de los apóstoles se transmitía el Espíritu, les ofreció dinero y les dijo: «Denme a mí también ese poder: que reciba el Espíritu Santo aquel a quien yo imponga las manos.» Pedro le contestó: «Que tu dinero te sirva de perdición, por haber pensado que el don de Dios se compra con dinero. En este asunto no tienes tú parte ni herencia, pues no piensas rectamente en lo tocante a Dios. Arrepiéntete, pues, de esa maldad y ruega al Señor, a ver si se te perdonan esos pensamientos; porque veo que estás amargado, como la hiel, y encadenado por la maldad.» Simón respondió: «Rueguen ustedes al Señor por mí, para que no me sobrevenga ninguna de esas cosas que han dicho.» Ellos dieron testimonio, predicaron la palabra del Señor y evangelizaron muchos poblados samaritanos. In those days, when Simon saw that the Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money, saying, “Give me also this power, that any one on whom I lay my hands may receive the Holy Spirit.” But Peter said to him, “Your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money! Dijo el Señor a los judíos que habían creído en Él: «Yo soy el pan de vida. El que venga a mí no tendrá hambre, y el que crea en mí no tendrá nunca sed. Pero ya se lo he dicho: Me han visto y no creen. Todo lo que me dé el Padre vendrá a mí, y al que venga a mí no lo echaré fuera; porque he bajado del cielo, no para hacer mi voluntad, sino la voluntad del que me ha enviado. Y ésta es la voluntad del que me ha enviado: que no pierda nada de lo que él me ha dado, sino que lo resucite el último día. Ésta es la voluntad de mi Padre: que quien vea al Hijo y crea en él tenga vida eterna, y que yo le resucite el último día.» [BJ-SAOGM]
The Lord said to the Jews who believed in him, “I am the bread of life; he who comes to me shall not hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst.
