Only-begotten Son and Logos of God, being immortal, You condescended for our salvation to take flesh from the holy Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary and, without change, became man. Christ, our God, You were crucified and conquered death by death. Being one of the Holy Trinity, glorified with the Father and the Holy Spirit: Save us.

Adelantándose al alba las mujeres que estaban con María, encontraron la piedra apartada del sepulcro, y oyeron al Ángel decirles: ¿Por qué buscáis como a un muerto al que mora en la luz eterna? He aquí el sudario. Corred y anunciad al mundo que el Señor ha resucitado, habiendo dado muerte a la muerte, porque es el Hijo de Dios, que salva a la humanidad. [SAOGM]
When the women with Mary had come before dawn, and they found that the stone had been rolled away from the sepulcher, they heard from the Angel, “Why do you seek among the dead, as a mortal man, the One who exists in everlasting light? See the grave clothes in the sepulcher. Run and proclaim to the world that the Lord has risen and put death to death; for He is the Son of God who saves the human race.” [SD]

Oh Theotokos, tu iglesia es como el Jardín del Paraíso, ya que derrama curaciones y remedios como ríos eternos. Acudimos a ella con fe, y tomamos fuerzas y vida eterna de sus aguas, por ti que eres el nacimiento del cual salió la mismísima Vida. Pues intercedes ante Cristo nuestro Salvador, que nació de ti, y le ruegas que salve nuestras almas. [JB]
O Theotokos, your church is like the Garden of Paradise, since it pours out healings and cures like ever-living rivers. We come to it with faith, and we draw strength and eternal life from its water, through you who are the Spring that received Life himself. For you intercede with Christ our Savior, who was born from you, and you entreat Him to save our souls. [SD]

In aquellos días, Pedro y Juan subieron al Templo para la oración de la hora de nona. Había allí un hombre tullido desde su nacimiento, al que llevaban y ponían todos los días junto a la puerta del Templo llamada Hermosa, para que pidiera limosna a los que entraban. El tullido, al ver a Pedro y a Juan que iban a entrar en el Templo, les pidió una limosna. Pedro, fijando en él la mirada juntamente con Juan, le dijo: «Míranos». Él se quedó mirándolos fijamente, esperando recibir algo de ellos. Pedro le dijo: «No tengo plata ni oro; pero lo que tengo, te lo doy: En nombre de Jesús Cristo, el Nazoreo, echa a andar.» Y tomándole de la mano derecha, lo levantó. Al instante sus pies y tobillos cobraron fuerza, y de un salto se enderezó y se puso a andar. Entró con ellos en el Templo andando, saltando y alabando a Dios. [BJ-SAOGM]
In those days, Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. And a man lame from birth was being carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful to ask alms of those who entered the temple. Seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, he asked for alms. And Peter directed his gaze at him, with John, and said, “Look at us.” And he fixed his attention upon them, expecting to receive something from them. But Peter said, “I have no silver and gold, but I give you what I have; in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.” And he took him by the right hand and raised him up; and immediately his feet and ankles were made strong. En aquel tiempo, Jesús bajó a Cafarnaún con su madre, sus hermanos y sus discípulos, pero no se quedaron allí muchos días. Se acercaba la Pascua de los judíos y Jesús subió a Jerusalén. Y encontró en el Templo a los vendedores de bueyes, ovejas y palomas, y a los cambistas en sus puestos. Entonces hizo un látigo con cuerdas, echó a todos fuera del Templo, con las ovejas y los bueyes, desparramó el dinero de los cambistas y les volcó las mesas; y dijo a los vendedores de palomas: «Quiten esto de aquí. No conviertan la casa de mi Padre en un mercado.» Sus discípulos se acordaron de que estaba escrito: “El celo por tu casa me devorará.” Los judíos entonces le dijeron: «¿Qué signo puedes darnos que justifique que puedes obrar así?» Jesús les respondió: «Destruyen este santuario y en tres días lo levantaré.» Los judíos le contestaron: «Cuarenta y seis años se ha tardado en construir este santuario, ¿y tú lo vas a levantar en tres días?» Pero él hablaba del santuario de su cuerpo. At that time, Jesus came to Capernaum with his mother and his brothers and his disciples; and there they stayed for a few days. The Passover of the Jews was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. In the temple he found those who were selling oxen and sheep and pigeons, and the money-changers at their business. And making a whip of cords, he drove them all, with the sheep and oxen, out of the temple; and he poured out the coins of the money-changers and overturned their tables. And he told those who sold the pigeons, “Take these things away; you shall not make my Father’s house a house of trade.” His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal for your house will consume me.” The Jews then said to him, “What sign have you to show us for doing this?” Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” The Jews then said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?” But he spoke of the temple of his body. When therefore he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this; and they believed the scripture and the word which Jesus had spoken. [RSV]
