Αʹ Τιμ 6:11 – 16
Timoteo, hijo mío, corre al alcance de la justicia, de la piedad, de la fe, de la caridad, de la paciencia en el sufrimiento, de la dulzura. Combate el buen combate de la fe, conquista la vida eterna a la que has sido llamado y de la que hiciste aquella solemne profesión delante de muchos testigos. Te recomiendo en la presencia de Dios, que da vida a todas las cosas, y de Jesús Cristo, que ante Poncio Pilato rindió tan hermoso testimonio, que conserves el mandato sin tacha ni culpa hasta la Manifestación de nuestro Señor Jesús Cristo, que a su debido tiempo hará ostensible el Bienaventurado y único Soberano, el Rey de los reyes y el Señor de los señores, el único que posee inmortalidad, que habita en una luz inaccesible, a quien no ha visto ningún ser humano ni le puede ver. A él el honor y el poder por siempre. Amén. [BJ-SAOGM]
Timothy, my son, aim at righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and for which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. In the presence of God who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus who in his testimony before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, I charge you to keep the commandment unstained and free from reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ; and this will be made manifest at the proper time by the blessed and only Sovereign, and King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone has immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has ever seen or can see. To him be honor and eternal dominion. Amen. [RSV]
Τέκνον Τιμόθεε, δίωκε δὲ δικαιοσύνην, εὐσέβειαν, πίστιν, ἀγάπην, ὑπομονήν, πρᾳότητα. ἀγωνίζου τὸν καλὸν ἀγῶνα τῆς πίστεως· ἐπιλαβοῦ τῆς αἰωνίου ζωῆς, εἰς ἣν καὶ ἐκλήθης καὶ ὡμολόγησας τὴν καλὴν ὁμολογίαν ἐνώπιον πολλῶν μαρτύρων. παραγγέλλω σοι ἐνώπιον τοῦ Θεοῦ τοῦ ζωοποιοῦντος τὰ πάντα καὶ Χριστοῦ Ἰησοῦ τοῦ μαρτυρήσαντος ἐπὶ Ποντίου Πιλάτου τὴν καλὴν ὁμολογίαν, τηρῆσαί σε τὴν ἐντολὴν ἄσπιλον, ἀνεπίληπτον μέχρι τῆς ἐπιφανείας τοῦ Κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ, ἣν καιροῖς ἰδίοις δείξει ὁ μακάριος καὶ μόνος δυνάστης, ὁ βασιλεὺς τῶν βασιλευόντων καὶ κύριος τῶν κυριευόντων, ὁ μόνος ἔχων ἀθανασίαν, φῶς οἰκῶν ἀπρόσιτον, ὃν εἶδεν οὐδεὶς ἀνθρώπων οὐδὲ ἰδεῖν δύναται· ᾧ τιμὴ καὶ κράτος αἰώνιον· ἀμήν.

Dijo el Señor a sus discípulos: «Guárdense de los escribas, que gustan pasear con ropas amplias y quieren ser saludados en las plazas, ocupar los primeros asientos en las sinagogas y los primeros puestos en los banquetes; y que devoran la hacienda de las viudas so capa de largas oraciones. Ésos tendrán una sentencia más rigurosa.» Alzando la mirada, vio a unos ricos que echaban sus donativos en el arca del Tesoro; vio también a una viuda pobre, que echaba allí dos moneditas. Dijo entonces: «De verdad les digo que esta viuda pobre ha echado más que nadie. Porque todos éstos han echado como donativo de lo que les sobra; ésta en cambio ha echado de lo que necesita, de todo lo que tiene para vivir.» [BJ-SAOGM]
The Lord said to his disciples, “Beware of the scribes, who like to go about in long robes, and love salutations in the market places and the best seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at feasts, who devour widows’ houses and for a pretense make long prayers. They will receive the greater condemnation.” He looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury; and he saw a poor widow put in two copper coins. And he said, “Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them; for they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all the living that she had.” Having said this, he proclaimed, “He who has ears to hear let him hear.” [RSV]
Εἶπεν ὁ Κύριος τοῖς ἑαυτοῦ μαθηταῖς· προσέχετε ἀπὸ τῶν γραμματέων τῶν θελόντων περιπατεῖν ἐν στολαῖς καὶ φιλούντων ἀσπασμοὺς ἐν ταῖς ἀγοραῖς καὶ πρωτοκαθεδρίας ἐν ταῖς συναγωγαῖς καὶ πρωτοκλισίας ἐν τοῖς δείπνοις, οἳ κατεσθίουσι τὰς οἰκίας τῶν χηρῶν καὶ προφάσει μακρὰ προσεύχονται· οὗτοι λήψονται περισσότερον κρῖμα. Ἀναβλέψας δὲ εἶδε τοὺς βάλλοντας τὰ δῶρα αὐτῶν εἰς τὸ γαζοφυλάκιον πλουσίους· εἶδε δέ τινα χήραν πενιχρὰν βάλλουσαν ἐκεῖ δύο λεπτά, καὶ εἶπεν· ἀληθῶς λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι ἡ χήρα ἡ πτωχὴ αὕτη πλεῖον πάντων ἔβαλεν· ἅπαντες γὰρ οὗτοι ἐκ τοῦ περισσεύοντος αὐτοῖς ἔβαλον εἰς τὰ δῶρα τοῦ Θεοῦ, αὕτη δὲ ἐκ τοῦ ὑστερήματος αὐτῆς ἅπαντα τὸν βίον ὃν εἶχεν ἔβαλε. Ταῦτα λέγων ἐφώνει· Ὁ ἔχων ὦτα ἀκούειν ἀκουέτω.
