Porque nuestra lucha no es contra la carne y la sangre, sino contra los principados, contra las potestades, contra los dominadores de este mundo tenebroso, contra los espíritus del mal que están en el aire. Por eso, tomen las armas de Dios, para que puedan resistir en el día funesto, y manténganse firmes después de haber vencido todo. En aquel tiempo, Jesús fue llevado por el Espíritu al desierto para ser tentado por el diablo. Después de hacer un ayuno de cuarenta días y cuarenta noches, sintió hambre. El tentador se acercó y le dijo: «Si eres Hijo de Dios, di que estas piedras se conviertan en panes.» Mas él respondió: «Está escrito: No sólo de pan vive el hombre, sino de toda palabra que sale de la boca de Dios.» Entonces el diablo lo llevó consigo a la Ciudad Santa, lo puso sobre el alero del Templo y le dijo: «Si eres Hijo de Dios, tírate abajo, porque está escrito: A sus ángeles te encomendará, y en sus manos te llevarán, para que no tropiece tu pie en piedra alguna.» Jesús le contestó: «También está escrito: No tentarás al Señor tu Dios.» De nuevo lo llevó consigo el diablo a un monte muy alto, le mostró todos los reinos del mundo y su gloria, y le dijo: «Todo esto te daré si te postras y me adoras.» Le dice entonces Jesús: «Apártate, Satanás, porque está escrito: Al Señor tu Dios adorarás, y sólo a él darás culto.» El diablo finalmente lo dejó. Y entonces se acercaron unos ángeles y se pusieron a servirle. [BJ-SAOGM]
At that time, Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And he fasted forty days and forty nights, and afterward he was hungry. And the tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.” But he answered, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’” Then the devil took him to the holy city, and set him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down; for it is written, ‘he will give his angels charge of you,’ and ‘On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.’” Jesus said to him, “Again, it is written, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.’” Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them; and he said to him, “All these I will give you, if you will fall down and worship me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Be gone, Satan! for it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.’” Then the devil left him, and behold, angels came and ministered to him. Τότε παραλαμβάνει αὐτὸν ὁ διάβολος εἰς τὴν ἁγίαν πόλιν, καὶ ἵστησιν αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὸ πτερύγιον τοῦ ἱεροῦ καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ· εἰ υἱὸς εἶ τοῦ Θεοῦ, βάλε σεαυτὸν κάτω· γέγραπται γὰρ ὅτι τοῖς ἀγγέλοις αὐτοῦ ἐντελεῖται περὶ σοῦ, καὶ ἐπὶ χειρῶν ἀροῦσί σε, μήποτε προσκόψῃς πρὸς λίθον τὸν πόδα σου. ἔφη αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς· πάλιν γέγραπται, οὐκ ἐκπειράσεις Κύριον τὸν Θεόν σου. Πάλιν παραλαμβάνει αὐτὸν ὁ διάβολος εἰς ὄρος ὑψηλὸν λίαν, καὶ δείκνυσιν αὐτῷ πάσας τὰς βασιλείας τοῦ κόσμου καὶ τὴν δόξαν αὐτῶν καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ· ταῦτα πάντα σοι δώσω, ἐὰν πεσὼν προσκυνήσῃς μοι. τότε λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς· ὕπαγε ὀπίσω μου, σατανᾶ· γέγραπται γάρ, Κύριον τὸν Θεόν σου προσκυνήσεις καὶ αὐτῷ μόνῳ λατρεύσεις. Τότε ἀφίησιν αὐτὸν ὁ διάβολος, καὶ ἰδοὺ ἄγγελοι προσῆλθον καὶ διηκόνουν αὐτῷ.

Ὕμνος εἰς τὴν Θεοτόκον.
Digno es, en verdad, aclamarte a ti, Theotokos, la siempre bienaventurada e inmaculada, y Madre de nuestro Dios. A la más honorable que los querubines y más gloriosa, incomparablemente que los serafines; a ti, la que incorruptamente, diste a luz al Verbo de Dios, a la verdaderamente Theotokos, te exaltamos.
It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Logos. We magnify you, the true Theotokos.

We have seen the true light; we have received the heavenly Spirit; we have found the true faith, worshiping the undivided Trinity, for the Trinity has saved us.

El que se dignó a ser bautizado por Juan en el Jordán, para nuestra salvación, Cristo, verdadero Dios nuestro, por las intercesiones de su purísima e inmaculada Madre, por el poder de la vivificante y preciosa Cruz, la protección de las celestiales potestades incorpóreas, las súplicas del venerable y glorioso profeta, precursor y bautista Juan, de los santos, gloriosos y alabadísimos apóstoles, de los santos, gloriosos y victoriosos mártires, de nuestros justos y teóforos padres, (santo patrono del templo local); de los santos y justos familiares del Señor, Joaquín y Ana, de nuestro padre entre los santos Gregorio, obispo de Nisa, cuya memoria celebramos; y de todos los santos, tenga misericordia de nosotros y sálvanos, pues eres un Dios bondadoso y filántropo.
