Timoteo, hijo mío, toda Escritura es inspirada por Dios y útil para enseñar, para argüir, para corregir y para educar en la justicia; así el hombre de Dios se encuentra religiosamente maduro y preparado para toda obra buena. Te conjuro en presencia de Dios y de Cristo Jesús que ha de venir a juzgar a vivos y muertos, por su Manifestación y por su Reino: Proclama la palabra, insiste a tiempo y a destiempo; reprende, amenaza, exhorta con toda paciencia y doctrina. Porque vendrá un tiempo en que los hombres no soportarán la doctrina sana, sino que, arrastrados por su propias pasiones, se harán con un montón de maestros por el prurito de oír novedades; apartarán sus oídos de la verdad y se volverán a las fábulas. Timothy, my son, all scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. I charge you in the presence of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom: preach the word, be urgent in season and out of season, convince, rebuke, and exhort, be unfailing in patience and in teaching. For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own likings, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander into myths. En aquel tiempo, Jesús llegó a Betsaida. Le presentaron un ciego y le suplicaron que le tocase. Tomando al ciego de la mano, lo sacó fuera del pueblo y, tras untarle saliva en los ojos, le impuso las manos y le preguntó: «¿Ves algo?» Él, alzando la vista, dijo: «Veo a los hombres, pero los veo como árboles que andan.» Después, volvió a ponerle las manos en los ojos y comenzó a ver perfectamente. El ciego quedó curado, de suerte que distinguía de lejos claramente todas las cosas. Después lo envió a su casa, diciéndole: «Ni siquiera entres en el pueblo.» [BJ-SAOGM]
At that time, Jesus came to Bethsaida. And some people brought to him a blind man, and begged him to touch him. And he took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the village; and when he had spit on his eyes and laid his hands upon him, he asked him, “Do you see anything?” And he looked up and said, “I see men; but they look like trees, walking.” Then again he laid his hands upon his eyes; and he looked intently and was restored, and saw everything clearly. And he sent him away to his home, saying, “Do not even enter the village.” [RSV]
