Αʹ Τιμ 1:1 – 7
Pablo, apóstol de Cristo Jesús, por mandato de Dios nuestro Salvador y de Cristo Jesús nuestra esperanza, a Timoteo, verdadero hijo mío en la fe: gracia, misericordia y paz de parte de Dios Padre y de Cristo Jesús, Señor nuestro. Al partir yo para Macedonia te rogué que permanecieras en Éfeso para que mandaras a algunos que no enseñasen doctrinas extrañas, ni dedicasen su atención a fábulas y genealogías interminables, que se prestan más para promover disputas que para realizar el plan de Dios, fundado en la fe. El fin de este mandato es la caridad que procede de un corazón limpio, de una conciencia recta y de una fe sincera. Algunos, desviados de esta línea de conducta, han venido a caer en una vana palabrería; pretenden ser maestros de la Ley sin entender lo que dicen ni lo que tan rotundamente afirman. [BJ-SAOGM]
Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope. To Timothy, my true child in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. As I urged you when I was going to Macedonia, remain at Ephesus that you may charge certain persons not to teach any different doctrine, nor to occupy themselves with myths and endless genealogies which promote speculations rather than the divine order that is in faith; whereas the aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and sincere faith. Certain persons by swerving from these have wandered away into vain discussion, desiring to be teachers of the law, without understanding either what they are saying or the things about which they make assertions. Παῦλος, ἀπόστολος Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ κατ᾽ ἐπιταγὴν Θεοῦ σωτῆρος ἡμῶν καὶ Κυρίου Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ τῆς ἐλπίδος ἡμῶν, Τιμοθέῳ γνησίῳ τέκνῳ ἐν πίστει· χάρις, ἔλεος, εἰρήνη ἀπὸ Θεοῦ πατρὸς ἡμῶν καὶ Χριστοῦ Ἰησοῦ τοῦ Κυρίου ἡμῶν. Καθὼς παρεκάλεσά σε προσμεῖναι ἐν Ἐφέσῳ, πορευόμενος εἰς Μακεδονίαν, ἵνα παραγγείλῃς τισὶ μὴ ἑτεροδιδασκαλεῖν μηδὲ προσέχειν μύθοις καὶ γενεαλογίαις ἀπεράντοις, αἵτινες ζητήσεις παρέχουσι μᾶλλον ἢ οἰκονομίαν Θεοῦ τὴν ἐν πίστει· τὸ δὲ τέλος τῆς παραγγελίας ἐστὶν ἀγάπη ἐκ καθαρᾶς καρδίας καὶ συνειδήσεως ἀγαθῆς καὶ πίστεως ἀνυποκρίτου, ὧν τινες ἀστοχήσαντες ἐξετράπησαν εἰς ματαιολογίαν, θέλοντες εἶναι νομοδιδάσκαλοι, μὴ νοοῦντες μήτε ἃ λέγουσι μήτε περὶ τίνων διαβεβαιοῦνται.

En aquel tiempo, cerca ya de la bajada del monte de los Olivos, toda la multitud de los discípulos, llenos de alegría, se pusieron a alabar a Dios a grandes voces por todos los milagros que habían visto. Decían: «¡Bendito el rey que viene en nombre del Señor! Paz en el cielo y gloria en las alturas.» Algunos de los fariseos que estaban entre la gente le dijeron: «Maestro, reprende a tus discípulos.» Respondió: «Les digo que si éstos se callan gritarán las piedras.» Al acercarse y ver la ciudad, lloró por ella, mientras decía: «¡Si también tú conocieras en este día el mensaje de paz! Pero ahora ha quedado oculto a tus ojos. Porque vendrán días en que tus enemigos te rodearán de empalizadas, te cercarán y te apretarán por todas partes; te estrellarán contra el suelo junto con tus hijos que estén dentro de ti, y no dejarán en ti piedra sobre piedra, porque no has conocido el tiempo de tu visita.» [BJ-SAOGM]
At that time, as Jesus was drawing near, at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen, saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” And some of the Pharisees in the multitude said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.” And when he drew near and saw the city he wept over it, saying, “Would that even today you knew the things that make for peace! But now they are hid from your eyes. For the days shall come upon you, when your enemies will cast up a bank about you and surround you, and hem you in on every side, and dash you to the ground, you and your children within you, and they will not leave one stone upon another in you; because you did not know the time of your visitation.” [RSV]
Τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ, ἐγγίζοντος τοῦ Ἰησοῦ πρὸς τῇ καταβάσει τοῦ ὄρους τῶν ἐλαιῶν ἤρξατο ἅπαν τὸ πλῆθος τῶν μαθητῶν χαίροντες αἰνεῖν τὸν Θεὸν φωνῇ μεγάλῃ περὶ πασῶν ὧν εἶδον δυνάμεων λέγοντες· εὐλογημένος ὁ ἐρχόμενος βασιλεὺς ἐν ὀνόματι Κυρίου· εἰρήνη ἐν οὐρανῷ καὶ δόξα ἐν ὑψίστοις. καί τινες τῶν Φαρισαίων ἀπὸ τοῦ ὄχλου εἶπον πρὸς αὐτόν· διδάσκαλε, ἐπιτίμησον τοῖς μαθηταῖς σου. καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι ἐὰν οὗτοι σιωπήσωσιν, οἱ λίθοι κεκράξονται. Καὶ ὡς ἤγγισεν, ἰδὼν τὴν πόλιν ἔκλαυσεν ἐπ᾿ αὐτῇ, λέγων ὅτι εἰ ἔγνως καὶ σύ, καί γε ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ σου ταύτῃ, τὰ πρὸς εἰρήνην σου! νῦν δὲ ἐκρύβη ἀπὸ ὀφθαλμῶν σου· ὅτι ἥξουσιν ἡμέραι ἐπὶ σὲ καὶ περιβαλοῦσιν οἱ ἐχθροί σου χάρακά σοι καὶ περικυκλώσουσί σε καὶ συνέξουσί σε πάντοθεν, καὶ ἐδαφιοῦσί σε καὶ τὰ τέκνα σου ἐν σοί, καὶ οὐκ ἀφήσουσιν ἐν σοὶ λίθον ἐπὶ λίθῳ, ἀνθ᾿ ὧν οὐκ ἔγνως τὸν καιρὸν τῆς ἐπισκοπῆς σου.
