Hermanos, Cristo es nuestra paz: el que de los dos pueblos hizo uno, derribando el muro divisorio, la enemistad, anulando en su carne la Ley con sus mandamientos y sus decretos, para crear en sí mismo, de los dos, un solo Hombre Nuevo, haciendo las paces, y reconciliar con Dios a ambos en un solo cuerpo, por medio de la cruz, dando en sí mismo muerte a la Enemistad. Vino a anunciar la paz: paz a ustedes que estaban lejos, y paz a los que estaban cerca. Por él, unos y otros tenemos libre acceso al Padre en un mismo Espíritu. Así pues, ya no son extraños ni forasteros, sino conciudadanos de los santos y familiares de Dios, edificados sobre el cimiento de los apóstoles y profetas, siendo la piedra angular Cristo mismo, en quien toda edificación bien trabada se eleva hasta formar un templo santo en el Señor, en quien también ustedes con ellos están siendo edificados, para ser morada de Dios en el Espíritu. Brethren, Christ is our peace, who has made us both one, and has broken down the dividing wall of hostility, by abolishing in his flesh the law of commandments and ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby bringing the hostility to an end. And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near; for through him we both have access in one Spirit to the Father. Dijo el Señor esta parábola: «Los campos de cierto hombre rico dieron una abundante cosecha; y pensaba para sus adentros: ‘¿Qué haré ahora, si no tengo dónde almacenar todo el grano?’ Entonces se dijo: ‘Ya sé lo que voy a hacer. Demoleré mis graneros y edificaré otros más grandes; almacenaré allí todo mi trigo y mis bienes, y me diré: Ahora ya tienes abundantes bienes en reserva para muchos años. Descansa, come, bebe y banquetea.’ Pero Dios le dijo: ‘¡Qué necio eres! Esta misma noche te reclamarán la vida. ¿Para quién será entonces todo lo que has preparado?’ Así es el que atesora riquezas para sí y no se enriquece en orden a Dios.» Dicho esto, exclamó: «El que tenga oídos para oír, que oiga.» [BJ-SAOGM]

Digno es, en verdad, aclamarte a ti, Theotokos, la siempre bienaventurada e inmaculada, y Madre de nuestro Dios. A la más honorable que los querubines y más gloriosa, incomparablemente que los serafines; a ti, la que incorruptamente, diste a luz al Verbo de Dios, a la verdaderamente Theotokos, te exaltamos.
It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Logos. We magnify you, the true Theotokos.
