Hermanos, a cada cual se le otorga la manifestación del Espíritu para provecho común. A uno se le pueden conceder, por medio del Espíritu, palabras de sabiduría; a otro, palabras de ciencia, según el mismo Espíritu; a otro, la fe, en el mismo Espíritu; a otro, carisma de curaciones, en el único Espíritu; a otro, poder de hacer milagros; a otro, don de profecía; a otro, discernimiento de espíritus; a otro, facultad de hablar diversas lenguas; a otro, don de interpretarlas. Pero todas estas cosas las obra un mismo y único Espíritu, que las distribuye a cada uno en particular según su voluntad. [BJ-SAOGM]
Brethren, to each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. All these are inspired by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills. [RSV]

En aquel tiempo, un sábado Jesús fue a comer a casa de uno de los jefes de los fariseos. Dijo al que le había invitado: «Cuando des una comida o una cena, no llames a tus amigos, ni a tus hermanos, ni a tus parientes, ni a tus vecinos ricos, no sea que ellos te inviten a su vez y tengas ya tu recompensa. Cuando des un banquete, llama a los pobres, a los lisiados, a los cojos y a los ciegos. Así serás dichoso, porque, al no poder corresponderte, serás recompensado en la resurrección de los justos.» Al oír esto, uno de los comensales le dijo: «¡Dichoso el que pueda comer en el Reino de Dios!» [BJ-SAOGM]
At that time, Jesus went to dine on the Sabbath at the house of a ruler who belonged to the Pharisees. And he said to the man who had invited him, “When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or your kinsmen or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return, and you be repaid. But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. You will be repaid at the resurrection of the just.” When one of those who sat at table with him heard this, he said to him, “Blessed is he who shall eat bread in the kingdom of God!” [RSV]
