Hermanos, les recomiendo a Febe, nuestra hermana, diaconisa de la Iglesia de Cencreas. Recíbanla en el Señor de una manera digna de los santos, y asístanla en cualquier cosa que necesite de ustedes, pues ella ha sido protectora de muchos, incluso de mí mismo. Saludos a Prisca y Áquila, colaboradores míos en Cristo Jesús. Ellos expusieron sus cabezas para salvarme. Y no soy yo solo en agradecérselo, sino también todas las Iglesias de la gentilidad; saluden también a la Iglesia que se reúne en su casa. Saludos a mi querido Epéneto, primicias de Asia para Cristo. Saludos a María, que se ha afanado mucho por ustedes. Saludos a Andrónico y Junia, mis parientes y compañeros de prisión, ilustres entre los apóstoles, que llegaron a Cristo antes que yo. Saludos a Ampliato, mi amado en el Señor. Saludos a Urbano, colaborador nuestro en Cristo; y a mi querido Estaquio. Saludos a Apeles, que ha dado buenas pruebas de sí en Cristo. Saludos a la familia de Aristóbulo. Saludos a mi pariente Herodión. Saludos a los fieles de la familia de Narciso, en el Señor. Saludos a Trifena y a Trifosa, que se han fatigado por el Señor. Saludos a la amada Pérside, que trabajó mucho en el Señor. Saludos a Rufo, escogido del Señor; y a su madre, que lo es también mía. Saludos a Asíncrito y Flegón, a Hermes, a Patrobas, a Hermas y a los hermanos que están con ellos. Saludos a Filólogo y a Julia, a Nereo y a su hermana, lo mismo que a Olimpas y a todos los santos que están con ellos. Salúdense unos a otros con el beso santo. Brethren, I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a minister of the church at Cenchreae, that you may receive her in the Lord as befits the saints, and help her in whatever she may require from you, for she has been a helper of many and of myself as well. Greet my beloved Epaenetus, who was the first convert in Asia for Christ. Greet Mary, who has worked hard among you. Greet Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen and my fellow prisoners; they are men of note among the apostles, and they were in Christ before me. Greet Ampliatus, my beloved in the Lord. Greet Urbanus, our fellow worker in Christ, and my beloved Stachys. Greet Apelles, who is approved in Christ. Greet those who belong to the family of Aristobulus. Greet my kinsman Herodion. Greet those in the Lord who belong to the family of Narcissus. Greet those workers in the Lord, Tryphaena and Tryphosa. Greet the beloved Persis, who has worked hard in the Lord. Greet Rufus, eminent in the Lord, also his mother and mine. Greet Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas, and the brethren who are with them. Greet Philologus, Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints who are with them. Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ greet you. [RSV]

Dijo el Señor: «El que no está conmigo, está contra mí; y el que no recoge conmigo, desparrama. Cuando el espíritu inmundo sale del hombre, anda vagando por lugares áridos, en busca de reposo; pero, al no encontrarlo, piensa: ‘Me volveré a mi casa, de donde salí.’ Pero resulta que, al llegar, la encuentra barrida y en orden. Entonces va y toma otros siete espíritus peores que él; entran y se instalan allí, y el final de aquel hombre viene a ser peor que el principio.» [BJ-SAOGM]
The Lord said, “He who is not with me is against me, and he who does not gather with me scatters. When the unclean spirit has gone out of a man, he passes through waterless places seeking rest; and finding none he says, ‘I will return to my house from which I came.’ And when he comes he finds it swept and put in order. Then he goes and brings seven other spirits more evil than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man becomes worse than the first.” [RSV]
