Hermanos, Cristo es la cabeza del cuerpo, de la Iglesia: Él es el Principio, el Primogénito de entre los muertos, para que sea él el primero en todo, pues Dios tuvo a bien hacer residir en él toda la plenitud, y reconciliar por él y para él todas las cosas, pacificando, mediante la sangre de su cruz, lo seres de la tierra y de los cielos. Y a ustedes, que en otro tiempo eran extraños y enemigos, por sus pensamientos y malas obras, los ha reconciliado ahora, por medio de la muerte de su cuerpo de carne, para presentarlos santos, inmaculados e irreprensibles delante de Él. Todo ello con tal que permanezcan sólidamente cimentados en la fe, firmes e inconmovibles en la esperanza del Evangelio que oyeron, que ha sido proclamado a toda criatura bajo el cielo y del que yo, Pablo, he llegado a ser ministro. Brethren, Christ is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning, the first-born from the dead, that in everything he might be preeminent. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross. And you, who once were estranged and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and irreproachable before him, provided that you continue in the fight, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which has been preached to every creature under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister. Ἀδελφοί, Χριστός ἐστιν ἡ κεφαλὴ τοῦ σώματος, τῆς ἐκκλησίας· ὅς ἐστιν ἀρχή, πρωτότοκος ἐκ τῶν νεκρῶν, ἵνα γένηται ἐν πᾶσιν αὐτὸς πρωτεύων, ὅτι ἐν αὐτῷ εὐδόκησε πᾶν τὸ πλήρωμα κατοικῆσαι καὶ δι᾽ αὐτοῦ ἀποκαταλλάξαι τὰ πάντα εἰς αὐτόν, εἰρηνοποιήσας διὰ τοῦ αἵματος τοῦ σταυροῦ αὐτοῦ, δι᾽ αὐτοῦ εἴτε τὰ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς εἴτε τὰ ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς. καὶ ὑμᾶς ποτε ὄντας ἀπηλλοτριωμένους καὶ ἐχθροὺς τῇ διανοίᾳ ἐν τοῖς ἔργοις τοῖς πονηροῖς, νυνὶ δὲ ἀποκατήλλαξεν ἐν τῷ σώματι τῆς σαρκὸς αὐτοῦ διὰ τοῦ θανάτου, παραστῆσαι ὑμᾶς ἁγίους καὶ ἀμώμους καὶ ἀνεγκλήτους κατενώπιον αὐτοῦ, εἴ γε ἐπιμένετε τῇ πίστει τεθεμελιωμένοι καὶ ἑδραῖοι καὶ μὴ μετακινούμενοι ἀπὸ τῆς ἐλπίδος τοῦ εὐαγγελίου οὗ ἠκούσατε, τοῦ κηρυχθέντος ἐν πάσῃ τῇ κτίσει τῇ ὑπὸ τὸν οὐρανόν, οὗ ἐγενόμην ἐγὼ Παῦλος διάκονος.

Dijo el Señor a sus discípulos: «Pidan y se les dará; busquen y hallarán; llamen y se les abrirá. Porque todo el que pide, recibe; el que busca, halla; y al que llama, le abrirán. ¿Qué padre hay entre ustedes que le da una culebra a su hijo cuando le pide un pez?; ¿o le da un escorpión cuando le pide un huevo? Pues si ustedes, aun siendo malos, saben dar cosas buenas a sus hijos, ¡cuánto más el Padre del cielo dará el Espíritu Santo a los que se lo pidan!» [BJ-SAOGM]
The Lord said to his disciples, “Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. What father among you, if his son asks for a fish, will instead of a fish give him a serpent; or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the good Spirit to those who ask him!” [RSV]
Εἶπεν ὁ Κύριος τοῖς ἑαυτοῦ μαθηταῖς· αἰτεῖτε, καὶ δοθήσεται ὑμῖν, ζητεῖτε, καὶ εὑρήσετε, κρούετε, καὶ ἀνοιγήσεται ὑμῖν· πᾶς γὰρ ὁ αἰτῶν λαμβάνει καὶ ὁ ζητῶν εὑρίσκει καὶ τῷ κρούοντι ἀνοιχθήσεται. τίνα δὲ ἐξ ὑμῶν τὸν πατέρα αἰτήσει ὁ υἱὸς ἄρτον, μὴ λίθον ἐπιδώσει αὐτῷ; ἢ καὶ ἰχθύν, μὴ ἀντὶ ἰχθύος ὄφιν ἐπιδώσει αὐτῷ; ἢ καὶ ἐὰν αἰτήσῃ ᾠόν, μὴ ἐπιδώσει αὐτῷ σκορπίον; εἰ οὖν ὑμεῖς, ὑπάρχοντες πονηροί, οἴδατε δόματα ἀγαθὰ διδόναι τοῖς τέκνοις ὑμῶν, πόσῳ μᾶλλον ὁ πατὴρ ὁ ἐξ οὐρανοῦ δώσει πνεῦμα ἀγαθὸν τοῖς αἰτοῦσιν αὐτόν;
