Hermanos, me alegré mucho en el Señor de que ya, por fin, han florecido sus buenos sentimientos para conmigo. Ya los tenían, sólo les faltaba la ocasión de manifestarlos. No lo digo movido por la necesidad, pues he aprendido a contentarme con lo que tengo. Sé andar escaso y sobrado. Estoy acostumbrado a todo y en todo: a la saciedad y al hambre; a la abundancia y a la privación. Todo lo puedo con Aquel que me da fuerzas. En todo caso, hicieron bien en compartir mi tribulación. Y saben también ustedes, filipenses, que en el comienzo de la evangelización, cuando salí de Macedonia, ninguna Iglesia me abrió cuenta de gastos y entradas, sino ustedes solos. Pues incluso cuando estaba yo en Tesalónica enviaron por dos veces con que atender a mi necesidad. No es que yo busque el don; sino que busco que aumenten los intereses en su cuenta. Tengo cuanto necesito, y me sobra; estoy al completo después de haber recibido de Epafrodito lo que me han enviado: suave aroma, sacrificio que Dios acepta con agrado. Y mi Dios proveerá a todas sus necesidades con magnificencia, conforme a su riqueza, en Cristo Jesús. Al Dios y Padre nuestro, la gloria por los siglos de los siglos. Amén. Saluden a todos los santos en Cristo Jesús. Los saludan los hermanos que están conmigo. Los saludan todos los santos, especialmente los de la casa del César. La gracia del Señor Jesús Cristo esté con su espíritu. Amén. [BJ-SAOGM]
Brethren, I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at length you have revived your concern for me; you were indeed concerned for me, but you had no opportunity. Not that I complain of want; for I have learned, in whatever state I am, to be content. I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound; in any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and want. I can do all things in him who strengthens me. Yet it was kind of you to share my trouble. And you Philippians yourselves know that in the beginning of the gospel, when I left Macedonia, no church entered into partnership with me in giving and receiving except you only; for even in Thessalonica you sent me help once and again. Not that I seek the gift; but I seek the fruit which increases to your credit. I have received full payment, and more; I am filled, having received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent, a fragrant offering, a sacrifice acceptable and pleasing to God. And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The brethren who are with me greet you. All the saints greet you, especially those of Caesar’s household. The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen. [RSV]

Dijo el Señor: «Mi Padre me ha entregado todo, y nadie conoce quién es el Hijo, sino el Padre; ni quién es el Padre, sino el Hijo y aquel a quien el Hijo se lo quiera revelar.» Volviéndose a los discípulos, les dijo aparte: «¡Dichosos los ojos que ven lo que ustedes ven! Porque les digo que muchos profetas y reyes quisieron ver lo que ustedes ven, pero no lo vieron; y oír lo que ustedes oyen, pero no lo oyeron.» [BJ-SAOGM]
The Lord said, “All things have been delivered to me by my Father; and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, or who the Father is except the Son and any one to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.” Then turning to the disciples he said privately, “Blessed are the eyes which see what you see! For I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.” [RSV]
