Hermanos, de la misma manera que han obedecido siempre —no sólo cuando estaba presente, sino mucho más ahora que estoy ausente—, trabajen con sumo cuidado por su salvación, pues es Dios quien, por su benevolencia, realiza en ustedes el querer y el obrar. Háganlo todo sin murmuraciones ni discusiones, para que sean irreprochables y sencillos hijos de Dios sin tacha, en medio de una generación perversa y depravada, en medio de la cual brillan como estrellas en el mundo, manteniendo en alto la palabra de la vida. En aquel tiempo, estando una vez orando a solas, en compañía de los discípulos, Jesús les preguntó: «¿Quién dice la gente que soy yo?» Ellos respondieron: «Unos, que Juan el Bautista; otros, que Elías; otros, que uno de los antiguos profetas ha resucitado.» Les preguntó: «Pero ustedes, ¿quién dicen que soy yo?» Pedro le contestó: «El Cristo de Dios.» Entonces les ordenó enérgicamente que no dijeran esto a nadie. Les dijo: «El Hijo del hombre debe sufrir mucho y ser reprobado por los ancianos, los sumos sacerdotes y los escribas; lo matarán y resucitará al tercer día.» [BJ-SAOGM]
At that time, it happened that as he was praying alone the disciples were with him; and he asked them, “Who do the people say that I am?” And they answered, “John the Baptist; but others say, Elijah; and others, that one of the old prophets has risen.” And he said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” And Peter answered, “The Christ of God.” But he charged and commanded them to tell this to no one, saying, “The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised.” [RSV]

It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Logos. We magnify you, the true Theotokos.
