Hermanos, Dios es testigo de cuánto los quiero a todos, con el afecto entrañable de Cristo Jesús. Y lo que pido en mi oración es que su amor crezca cada vez más en conocimiento y todo tipo de experiencia, para que puedan aquilatar lo mejor y lleguen limpios y sin tropiezo al Día de Cristo, cargados de los buenos frutos que vienen de Jesús Cristo, para gloria y alabanza de Dios. Quiero que sepan, hermanos, que lo que me ha sucedido ha contribuido más bien al progreso del Evangelio, pues se ha hecho público, en todo el Pretorio y entre todos los demás, que me encuentro encarcelado por Cristo. Así, la mayor parte de los hermanos, alentados en el Señor por mis cadenas, tienen mayor intrepidez en anunciar sin temor la palabra. [BJ-SAOGM]
Brethren, God is my witness, how I yearn for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus. And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruits of righteousness which come through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God. I want you to know, brethren, that what has happened to me has really served to advance the gospel, so that it has become known throughout the whole praetorium and to all the rest that my imprisonment is for Christ; and most of the brethren have been made confident in the Lord because of my imprisonment, and are much more bold to speak the word without fear. En aquel tiempo, Jesús recorrió ciudades y pueblos, proclamando y anunciando la Buena Nueva del Reino de Dios. Le acompañaban los Doce y algunas mujeres que habían sido curadas de espíritus malignos y enfermedades: María, llamada Magdalena, de la que habían salido siete demonios, Juana, mujer de Cusa, un administrador de Herodes, Susana y otras muchas que les servían con sus bienes. At that time, Jesus went through cities and villages, preaching and bringing the good news of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with him, and also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities: Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out, and Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others, who provided for him out of their means.
