Pablo, apóstol de Cristo Jesús por voluntad de Dios, a los santos y fieles en Cristo Jesús. Gracia a ustedes y paz de parte de Dios, nuestro Padre, y del Señor Jesús Cristo. Bendito sea el Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesús Cristo, pues, por estar unidos a Cristo, nos ha colmado de toda clase de bendiciones espirituales, en los cielos. Dios nos ha elegido en él antes de la fundación del mundo, para que vivamos ante él santamente y sin defecto alguno, en el amor. Nos ha elegido de antemano para ser sus hijos adoptivos por medio de Jesús Cristo, porque así lo quiso voluntariamente, para que alabemos su gloriosa benevolencia, con la que nos agració en el Amado. Por medio de su sangre conseguimos la redención, el perdón de los delitos, gracias a la inmensa benevolencia que ha prodigado sobre nosotros, concediéndonos todo tipo de sabiduría y conocimiento. En efecto, nos ha dado a conocer el misterio de su voluntad, conforme al benévolo proyecto que se había propuesto de antemano. [BJ-SAOGM]
Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To the saints who are at Ephesus and faithful in Christ Jesus: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. He destined us in love to be his sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace which he freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace which he lavished upon us in all wisdom and insight the mystery of his will, according to his purpose. En aquel tiempo, Jesús vino a Nazará, donde se había criado, y entró, según su costumbre, en la sinagoga el día de sábado. Se levantó para hacer la lectura y le entregaron el volumen del profeta Isaías. Desenrolló el volumen y halló el pasaje donde estaba escrito: ‘El Espíritu del Señor sobre mí, porque me ha ungido para anunciar a los pobres la Buena Nueva, me ha enviado a proclamar la liberación a los cautivos y la vista a los ciegos, para dar la libertad a los oprimidos y proclamar un año de gracia del Señor’. Enrolló el volumen, lo devolvió al ministro y se sentó. En la sinagoga todos los ojos estaban fijos en él. Comenzó, pues, a decirles: «Hoy se ha cumplido esta Escritura que acaban de oír.» Todos hacían comentarios sobre él y se extrañaban de la elocuencia y seguridad con que hablaba. [BJ-SAOGM]
At that time, Jesus came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up; and he went to the synagogue, as his custom was, on the sabbath day. And he stood up to read; and there was given to him the book of the prophet Isaiah. He opened the book and found the place where it was written, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” And he closed the book, and gave it back to the attendant, and sat down; and the eyes of all in the synagogue were fixed on him. And he began to say to them, “Today this scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.” And all spoke well of him, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth. [RSV]
Τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ, ἦλθεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἰς τὴν Ναζαρέτ, οὗ ἦν τεθραμμένος, καὶ εἰσῆλθε κατὰ τὸ εἰωθὸς αὐτῷ ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῶν σαββάτων εἰς τὴν συναγωγήν, καὶ ἀνέστη ἀναγνῶναι. καὶ ἐπεδόθη αὐτῷ βιβλίον Ἡσαΐου τοῦ προφήτου, καὶ ἀναπτύξας τὸ βιβλίον εὗρε τὸν τόπον οὗ ἦν γεγραμμένον· Πνεῦμα Κυρίου ἐπ᾿ ἐμέ, οὗ εἵνεκεν ἔχρισέ με, εὐαγγελίσασθαι πτωχοῖς ἀπέσταλκέ με, ἰάσασθαι τοὺς συντετριμμένους τὴν καρδίαν, κηρῦξαι αἰχμαλώτοις ἄφεσιν καὶ τυφλοῖς ἀνάβλεψιν, ἀποστεῖλαι τεθραυσμένους ἐν ἀφέσει, κηρῦξαι ἐνιαυτὸν Κυρίου δεκτόν. καὶ πτύξας τὸ βιβλίον ἀποδοὺς τῷ ὑπηρέτῃ ἐκάθισε· καὶ πάντων ἐν τῇ συναγωγῇ οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ ἦσαν ἀτενίζοντες αὐτῷ. ἤρξατο δὲ λέγειν πρὸς αὐτοὺς ὅτι σήμερον πεπλήρωται ἡ γραφὴ αὕτη ἐν τοῖς ὠσὶν ὑμῶν. καὶ πάντες ἐμαρτύρουν αὐτῷ καὶ ἐθαύμαζον ἐπὶ τοῖς λόγοις τῆς χάριτος τοῖς ἐκπορευομένοις ἐκ τοῦ στόματος αὐτοῦ.
