Hermanos, fortalézcanse en el Señor y en la fuerza poderosa. Revístanse de las armas de Dios para poder resistir a las acechanzas del diablo. Porque nuestra lucha no es contra la carne y la sangre, sino contra los principados, contra las potestades, contra los dominadores de este mundo tenebroso, contra los espíritus del mal que están en el aire. Por eso, tomen las armas de Dios, para que puedan resistir en el día funesto, y manténganse firmes después de haber vencido todo. Pónganse en pie, ceñida su cintura con la verdad y revestidos de la justicia como coraza, calzados los pies con el celo por el Evangelio de la paz, embrazando siempre el escudo de la fe, para que puedan apagar con él todos los encendidos dardos del maligno. Tomen, también, el yelmo de la salvación y la espada del Espíritu, que es la palabra de Dios. [BJ-SAOGM]
Brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand, therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the equipment of the gospel of peace; with all of these, taking the shield of faith, with which you can quench all the flaming darts of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. [RSV]
Ἀδελφοί, ἐνδυναμοῦσθε ἐν Κυρίῳ καὶ ἐν τῷ κράτει τῆς ἰσχύος αὐτοῦ. ἐνδύσασθε τὴν πανοπλίαν τοῦ Θεοῦ πρὸς τὸ δύνασθαι ὑμᾶς στῆναι πρὸς τὰς μεθοδείας τοῦ διαβόλου· ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν ἡμῖν ἡ πάλη πρὸς αἷμα καὶ σάρκα, ἀλλὰ πρὸς τὰς ἀρχάς, πρὸς τὰς ἐξουσίας, πρὸς τοὺς κοσμοκράτορας τοῦ σκότους τοῦ αἰῶνος τούτου, πρὸς τὰ πνευματικὰ τῆς πονηρίας ἐν τοῖς ἐπουρανίοις. διὰ τοῦτο ἀναλάβετε τὴν πανοπλίαν τοῦ Θεοῦ, ἵνα δυνηθῆτε ἀντιστῆναι ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ τῇ πονηρᾷ καὶ ἅπαντα κατεργασάμενοι στῆναι. στῆτε οὖν περιζωσάμενοι τὴν ὀσφὺν ὑμῶν ἐν ἀληθείᾳ, καὶ ἐνδυσάμενοι τὸν θώρακα τῆς δικαιοσύνης, καὶ ὑποδησάμενοι τοὺς πόδας ἐν ἑτοιμασίᾳ τοῦ εὐαγγελίου τῆς εἰρήνης, ἐπὶ πᾶσιν ἀναλαβόντες τὸν θυρεὸν τῆς πίστεως, ἐν ᾧ δυνήσεσθε πάντα τὰ βέλη τοῦ πονηροῦ τὰ πεπυρωμένα σβέσαι· καὶ τὴν περικεφαλαίαν τοῦ σωτηρίου δέξασθε, καὶ τὴν μάχαιραν τοῦ Πνεύματος, ὅ ἐστι ῥῆμα Θεοῦ.

Dijo el Señor a los judíos que habían venido a Él: «Yo me voy y ustedes me buscarán, y morirán en su pecado. Adonde yo voy, ustedes no pueden ir.» Los judíos se decían: «¿Es que se va a suicidar, pues dice: ‘Adonde yo voy, ustedes no pueden ir’? Él les decía: «Ustedes son de abajo, yo soy de arriba. Ustedes son de este mundo, yo no soy de este mundo. Ya les he dicho que morirán en sus pecados, porque si no creen que Yo Soy, morirán en sus pecados.» Entonces le decían: «¿Quién eres tú?» Jesús les respondió: «Desde el principio, lo que les estoy diciendo. Mucho podría hablar de ustedes y juzgar, pero el que me ha enviado es veraz, y lo que le he oído a él es lo que hablo al mundo.» No comprendieron que les hablaba del Padre. Les dijo, pues, Jesús: «Cuando hayan levantado al Hijo del hombre, entonces sabrán que Yo Soy, y que no hago nada por mi propia cuenta; sino que, lo que el Padre me ha enseñado, eso es lo que hablo. Y el que me ha enviado está conmigo: no me ha dejado solo, porque yo hago siempre lo que le agrada a él.» Al hablar así, muchos creyeron en él. [BJ-SAOGM]
The Lord said to the Jews who came to him, “I go away, and you will seek me and die in your sin; where I am going, you cannot come.” Then said the Jews, “Will he kill himself, since he says, ‘Where I am going, you can not come’?” He said to them, “You are from below, I am from above; you are of this world, I am not of this world. I told you that you would die in your sins, for you will die in your sins unless you believe that I am he.” They said to him, “Who are you?” Jesus said to them, “Even what I have told you from the beginning. I have much to say about you and much to judge; but he who sent me is true, and I declare to the world what I have heard from him.” They did not understand that he spoke to them of the Father. So Jesus said, “When you have lifted up the Son of man, then you will know that I am he, and that I do nothing on my own authority but speak thus as my Father taught me. And he who sent me is with me; the Father has not left me alone, for I always do what is pleasing to him.” As he spoke thus, many believed in him. [RSV]

Ταῦτα αὐτοῦ λαλοῦντος πολλοὶ ἐπίστευσαν εἰς αὐτόν.

On September 20, we commemorate the holy Great-martyr Eustathius, and his wife Theopisti, and their two sons Agapius and Theopistus.
Τῇ Κʹ τοῦ αὐτοῦ μηνός τοῦ ἅγίου Μεγαλομάρτυρος Εὐσταθίου καὶ Θεοπίστης, συμβίου αὐτοῦ, καὶ τῶν δύο υἱῶν αὐτῶν, Ἀγαπίου καὶ Θεοπίστου.
