Hermanos, entre los perfectos hablamos de sabiduría, pero no de la sabiduría de este mundo ni de los jefes de este mundo, abocados a la ruina, sino de una sabiduría de Dios, misteriosa, escondida, destinada por Dios desde antes de los siglos para gloria nuestra, desconocida de todos los jefes de este mundo —pues, de haberla conocido, no habrían crucificado al Señor de la Gloria—. Brethren, among the mature we impart wisdom, although it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to pass away. Dijo el Señor: «El que ama a su padre o a su madre más que a mí, no es digno de mí; el que ama a su hijo o a su hija más que a mí, no es digno de mí. El que no tome su cruz y me siga, no es digno de mí. El que encuentre su vida, la perderá; y el que pierda su vida por mí, la encontrará. Quien a ustedes acoge, a mí me acoge, y quien me acoge a mí, acoge a Aquel que me ha enviado. Quien acoja a un profeta por ser profeta, recibirá recompensa de profeta, y quien acoja a un justo por ser justo, recibirá recompensa de justo.
