God is the Lord, and He revealed Himself to us. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. [SAAS]

Verso 1: Confiesen al Señor porque es bueno, pues eterna es su misericordia.

Verso 2: Todas las gentes me cercaron y con el nombre de Dios me he defendido de ellos.

Verse 2: All the nations surrounded me, but in the name of the Lord I defended myself against them.

Verso 3: Por el Señor ha sido hecho esto y es maravilloso a nuestros ojos.

Tu Nacimiento, oh Theotokos, anunció la alegría a todo el universo, porque de ti surgió resplandeciente el Sol de Justicia, Cristo nuestro Dios, Quien disolviendo la maldición, nos concedió la bendición, y pisoteando la muerte nos otorgó la vida eterna. [unES] (3 veces)

Your Nativity, O Theotokos, imparted joy to the entire earth, for out of you has risen the Sun of Righteousness, Christ our God. He nullified the curse and instead gave His blessing; and causing death to be neutralized, He granted us eternal life. [SD] (3)

Conmemorando a la Santísima, pura, benditísima, y gloriosa doncella nuestra, la Theotokos y siempre Virgen María; con todos los santos, encomendémonos cada uno a sí mismo y unos a otros y nuestra vida entera a Cristo nuestro Dios.

Remembering our all-holy, immaculate, most blessed, and glorious Lady, the Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary, with all the saints, let us commend ourselves and one another and our whole life to Christ our God.

Τῆς παναγίας, ἀχράντου, ὑπερευλογημένης, ἐνδόξου, δεσποίνης ἡμῶν, Θεοτόκου καὶ ἀειπαρθένου Μαρίας μετὰ πάντων τῶν ἁγίων μνημονεύσαντες, ἑαυτοὺς καὶ ἀλλήλους καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν ζωὴν ἡμῶν Χριστῷ τῷ Θεῷ παραθώμεθα.

For Yours is the dominion, and Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and to the ages of ages.

David proclama el juramento que te ha hecho el Señor nuestro Dios: El juramento que me hizo, declaras, lo veo cumplido, pues la Virgen que me ha dado ha salido de mi seno como fruto; ella da a luz al Creador, Cristo, el nuevo Adán, como un Rey sobre el trono hecho para mí; he aquí que ahora Él reina, aquel cuyo Reino no tiene fin. La Estéril da a luz a la Madre de Dios, la criadora de nuestra Vida. [MST]

Shout, O David, and declare, * what oath did God swear to you? * And he answers, “What He swore, behold, He also has fulfilled, * for He has given the Virgin as the fruit of my loins. * From her has Christ the new Adam and Fashioner * been born, as it is written, to be King on my throne. * And He whose reign is unshakable is reigning today and forevermore. * The barren woman bears the Theotokos, * the nourisher of our Life.” [SD]

Unto us is born today Mary the child of God, * as the branch from Jesse’s root, and as the fruit of David’s loins, * and all creation is re-created and deified. * O heaven and the earth, rejoice in unison. * Sing praises unto her, O all you Gentile clans. * Joachim is exultant, and Anna is keeping festival, crying out: * “The barren woman bears the Theotokos, * the nourisher of our Life.” [SD]

Que los cielos se regocijen y la tierra se alegre pues el Cielo divino, la Novia de Dios ha nacido en la tierra según su promesa. La Estéril amamanta a María como un bebé y Joaquín se regocija en su nacimiento diciendo: Me ha nacido la Vara de la cual Cristo brotará como una flor de la raíz de David. ¡Verdaderamente gloriosísima es esta maravilla! Exult, O Heaven, and you also, Earth, be joyful. * Because the very Bride of God and God’s own heaven * has been born on the earth fulfilling thus the promise. * The barren woman is nursing Mary the babe, * and joyous is righteous Joachim at the birth, * and he says, From the root of David unto me is born a Rod, * from which has bloomed the flower Christ. * Truly wondrous the miracle! En aquellos días, se puso en camino María y se dirigió con prontitud a la región montañosa, a una población de Judá. Entró en casa de Zacarías y saludó a Isabel. En cuanto oyó Isabel el saludo de María, saltó de gozo el niño en su seno; Isabel quedó llena de Espíritu Santo y exclamó a gritos: «Bendita tú entre las mujeres y bendito el fruto de tu seno; ¿cómo así viene a visitarme la madre de mi Señor? In those days, Mary arose and went with haste into the hill country, to a city of Judah, and she entered the house of Zacharias and greeted Elizabeth. And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and she exclaimed with a loud cry, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! And why is this granted me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For behold, when the voice of your greeting came to my ears, the babe in my womb leaped for joy. Ten piedad de mí, oh Dios, por tu bondad, por tu inmensa ternura borra mi delito, lávame a fondo de mi culpa, purifícame de mi pecado. Pues yo reconozco mi delito, mi pecado está siempre ante mí; contra ti, contra ti solo pequé, lo malo a tus ojos cometí. Por que seas justo cuando hablas e irreprochable cuando juzgas. Mira que nací culpable, pecador me concibió mi madre. Y tú amas la verdad en lo íntimo del ser, en mi interior me inculcas sabiduría. Rocíame con hisopo hasta quedar limpio, lávame hasta blanquear más que la nieve. Devuélveme el son del gozo y la alegría, se alegren los huesos que tú machacaste. Aparta tu vista de mis yerros y borra todas mis culpas. Crea en mí, oh Dios, un corazón puro, renueva en mi interior un espíritu firme; no me rechaces lejos de tu rostro, no retires de mí tu santo espíritu. Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your great mercy; and according to the abundance of Your compassion, blot out my transgression. Wash me thoroughly from my lawlessness and cleanse me from my sin. For I know my lawlessness, and my sin is always before me. Against You only have I sinned and done evil in Your sight; that You may be justified in Your words, and overcome when You are judged. For behold, I was conceived in transgressions, and in sins my mother bore me. Behold, You love truth; You showed me the unknown and secret things of Your wisdom. You shall sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be cleansed; You shall wash me, and I will be made whiter than snow. You shall make me hear joy and gladness; my bones that were humbled shall greatly rejoice. Turn Your face from my sins, and blot out all my transgressions. Por tu santo Nacimiento, oh Purísima, Joaquín y Ana fueron librados de la pena de la esterilidad, Adán y Eva, de la corrupción de la muerte, y tu pueblo lo celebra siendo redimido de la culpa de sus transgresiones al exclamar: “La estéril da a luz a la Madre de Dios, la alimentadora de nuestra vida.” [SAOGM]

Both Joachim and Anna from their sterility’s stigma, and Adam and Eve from their mortality’s ruin have been set free, O immaculate Maid, by your holy nativity. For this do your people hold celebration, redeemed from the guilt of transgression as they cry to you, “The barren one bears the Theotokos, the nourisher of our Life.” [GKD]

Tanto la oración como los suspiros de Joaquín y Ana que gemían por la esterilidad y la falta de hijos fueron aceptados y llegaron a los oídos del Señor. Ellos produjeron un fruto que fue para el mundo portador de vida; mientras que sobre la montaña oraba el primero, la segunda meditaba su oprobio en el jardín; pero la Estéril da a luz con gozo a la Madre de Dios, la que alimenta nuestra Vida. The prayer with the sigh, sterile and barren, of Joachim and of Anna, was well-received in the ears of the Lord. It unbound them and they blossomed the fruit that brings life to the world. For while he on the mountain did offer a prayer, she in the garden the reproach did bear. But then with joy the barren one bears the Theotokos, the nourisher of our Life. [GKD]

Cuando la Cruz fue trazada por Moisés con su bastón, el mar Rojo se partió para el pueblo de Israel que pasó a pie seco; luego cerró sus aguas inmensas chocando entre los carros del Faraón, inscribiendo sobre él el arma invencible; por eso cantamos a Cristo nuestro Dios, pues Él se ha cubierto de gloria. Moses prefigured the Cross. * Lifting up the rod, he stretched out his hand and split the Sea for Israel to cross on land. * Then he stretched it out again, * and the sea returned and covered Pharaoh’s chariots. * The Cross was thus portrayed as our invincible armor. * So let us sing to the Lord, * Christ our God, for He is greatly glorified. Un bastón se vuelve la figura de este misterio: Floreciendo, decide sobre el sacerdocio de Aarón y en la Iglesia antes estéril, florece ahora el árbol de la Cruz para ser su fuerza y el poder que la fortalece. [MST]

The rod of Aaron is seen as typifying the mystery; * for it budded, and thus was the priest selected. * Now in the Church, that was barren once, the Cross of Christ, like a tree, * has blossomed forth, * as power and a firm support. [GOASD]

Oh madero del árbol tres veces feliz y bendito sobre el cual fue puesto en cruz Cristo nuestro Dios, nuestro Señor. Éste causó la caída de quien nos sedujo bajo el árbol prohibido y que fue atrapado por Tu carne clavada sobre la Cruz, oh Dios de majestad, Quien procuras a nuestras almas la paz. [MST]

Tree of the Cross, you are thrice-blessed, * for Jesus Christ, who is King and Lord, was crucified on you. * Through you fallen is the one who by a tree deceived us, * for he was lured by God who in the flesh indeed * was hung and nailed to you, * and who grants to our souls His peace. [GOASD]

En las entrañas del monstruo marino, Jonás extendiendo sus manos en forma de cruz a imagen de Tu Pasión, salió después de tres días, esbozando la Resurrección universal del Señor nuestro Dios crucificado en Su carne, Cristo Quien ilumina al mundo por Su Resurrección al tercer día. [MST]

In the belly of the sea beast * the prophet Jonah prayed with his arms extended crosswise; * thus he clearly prefigured the saving Passion of Christ. * When after three days he emerged, * he was depicting the supernal resurrection from the dead * of Christ God, who was physically nailed to the Cross * and by His third-day arising illumined the universe. [GOASD]

La orden insensata del perverso tirano domó a los pueblos, amenaza y blasfemia salían de su boca contra Dios; sin embargo, los Jóvenes no temieron su furor bestial ni el horno de fuego, sino en las llamas crepitantes bajo el soplo del rocío, unieron sus voces y cantaron: Oh Dios de nuestros Padres y nuestro Dios, Señor de gloria, bendito seas. The impious tyrant’s preposterous decree disturbed the populace, * breathing threats and blasphemous pronouncements hateful to God. * His brutal anger did not intimidate * the three Servants, nor did the consuming fire. * But when the dew-laden breeze whistled against the fire, they joined it and together sang, * “Blessed are You, O Lord. You are highly praised, O God, the God of our fathers.” [GOASD]

We praise and we bless and we worship the Lord.

Αἰνοῦμεν, εὐλογοῦμεν καὶ προσκυνοῦμεν τὸν Κύριον.

Jóvenes en número igual a la Trinidad, bendigan al Padre Creador y canten al Verbo que descendió, cambiando el fuego en rocío, y exalten por los siglos al Espíritu Santísimo que a todos los seres da la vida. [MST]

This is the Lord’s Day, O people, be filled with gladness! Behold! The bridal chamber of the Light and the book of the Word of Life has come forth from the womb.
