Only-begotten Son and Logos of God, being immortal, You condescended for our salvation to take flesh from the holy Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary and, without change, became man. Christ, our God, You were crucified and conquered death by death. Being one of the Holy Trinity, glorified with the Father and the Holy Spirit: Save us.

Los que quieren ser bien vistos en lo humano, son los que los fuerzan a circuncidarse, con el único fin de evitar la persecución por la cruz de Cristo. Pues ni siquiera esos mismos que se circuncidan cumplen la ley; sólo desean verlos circuncidados para presumir de que lo han hecho gracias a ellos. En cuanto a mí, ¡Dios me libre de presumir si no es en la cruz de nuestro Señor Jesús Cristo, por la cual el mundo es para mí un crucificado y yo un crucificado para el mundo! Porque lo que cuenta no es la circuncisión ni la incircuncisión, sino ser una creación nueva. Y para todos los que se sometan a esta regla, paz y misericordia, lo mismo que para el Israel de Dios. Brethren, see with what large letters I am writing to you with my own hand. It is those who want to make a good showing in the flesh that would compel you to be circumcised, and only in order that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ. For even those who receive circumcision do not themselves keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may glory in your flesh. But far be it from me to glory except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. Dijo el Señor: «Nadie ha subido al cielo, sino el que bajó del cielo: el Hijo del hombre. Y, del mismo modo que Moisés elevó la serpiente en el desierto, así tiene que ser elevado el Hijo del hombre, para que todo el que crea tenga en él la vida eterna. Porque tanto amó Dios al mundo que entregó a su Hijo unigénito, para que todo el que crea en él no perezca, sino que tenga vida eterna. Porque Dios no ha enviado a su Hijo al mundo para juzgar al mundo, sino para que el mundo se salve por él.» [BJ-SAOGM]
The Lord said, “No one has ascended into heaven but he who descended from heaven, the Son of man who is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God sent the Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.” [RSV]

Digno es, en verdad, aclamarte a ti, Theotokos, la siempre bienaventurada e inmaculada, y Madre de nuestro Dios. A la más honorable que los querubines y más gloriosa, incomparablemente que los serafines; a ti, la que incorruptamente, diste a luz al Verbo de Dios, a la verdaderamente Theotokos, te exaltamos.
It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Logos. We magnify you, the true Theotokos.
