Only-begotten Son and Logos of God, being immortal, You condescended for our salvation to take flesh from the holy Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary and, without change, became man. Hermanos, si conviene que vaya también yo, irán conmigo. Llegaré donde ustedes después de haber atravesado Macedonia, pues he pensado pasar por ahí. Tal vez pase algún tiempo entre ustedes, es posible que incluso el invierno; así podrán prepararme lo que necesite llevar adonde vaya. Además no quiero verlos ahora sólo de paso; espero estar algún tiempo entre ustedes, si así lo permite el Señor. De todos modos, seguiré en Éfeso hasta Pentecostés; porque se me ha abierto una puerta grande y prometedora, y los enemigos son muchos. Si llega Timoteo, procuren que no esté receloso por su culpa, pues trabaja como yo en la obra del Señor. Que nadie lo menosprecie. Despídanlo en paz cuando regrese donde mí, pues lo espero con los hermanos. En cuanto a nuestro hermano Apolo, le he insistido mucho para que fuera a visitarlos con los hermanos; pero no tiene intención alguna de ir ahora. Lo hará cuando tenga oportunidad. [BJ-SAOGM]
Brethren, if it seems advisable that I should go also, they will accompany me. I will visit you after passing through Macedonia, for I intend to pass through Macedonia, and perhaps I will stay with you or even spend the winter, so that you may speed me on my journey, wherever I go. For I do not want to see you now just in passing; I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord permits. But I will stay in Ephesus until Pentecost, for a wide door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many adversaries. When Timothy comes, see that you put him at ease among you, for he is doing the work of the Lord, as I am. So let no one despise him. Speed him on his way in peace, that he may return to me; for I am expecting him with the brethren. As for our brother Apollos, I strongly urge him to visit you with the other brethren, but it was not all his will to come now. He will come when he has the opportunity. [RSV]

Dijo el Señor esta parábola: «Un hombre tenía dos hijos. Llegándose al primero, le dijo: ‘Hijo, vete hoy a trabajar en la viña.’ Él respondió: ‘No quiero’, pero después se arrepintió y fue. Llegándose al segundo, le dijo lo mismo. Él respondió: ‘Voy, Señor’, pero no fue. ¿Cuál de los dos hizo la voluntad del padre?» —«El primero», le dicen. Jesús añadió: «Les aseguro que los publicanos y las prostitutas llegarán antes que ustedes al Reino de Dios.
