Only-begotten Son and Logos of God, being immortal, You condescended for our salvation to take flesh from the holy Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary and, without change, became man. Hermanos, les exhorto, en nombre de nuestro Señor Jesús Cristo, a que sean unánimes en el hablar, y no haya entre ustedes divisiones; a que estén unidos en una misma forma de pensar y en idénticos criterios. Lo digo, hermanos míos, porque los de Cloe me han informado de que existen discordias entre ustedes. Me refiero a que cada uno de ustedes anda diciendo: «Yo soy de Pablo», «Yo de Apolo», «Yo de Cefas», «Yo de Cristo». ¿Está dividido Cristo? ¿Acaso fue Pablo crucificado por ustedes? ¿O han sido bautizados en el nombre de Pablo? ¡Doy gracias a Dios por no haber bautizado a ninguno de ustedes, fuera de Crispo y Gayo! Así, nadie puede decir que han sido bautizados en mi nombre. ¡Ah, sí!, también bauticé a la familia de Estéfanas. Por lo demás, no creo haber bautizado a ningún otro. Brethren, I appeal to you by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree and that there be no dissensions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment. For it has been reported to me by Chloe’s people that there is quarreling among you, my brethren. What I mean is that each one of you says, “I belong to Paul,” or “I belong to Apollos,” or “I belong to Cephas,” or “I belong to Christ.” Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul? I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius; lest any one should say that you were baptized in my name. (I did baptize also the household of Stephanas. Beyond that, I do not know whether I baptized any one else.) For Christ did not send me to baptize but to preach the gospel, and not with eloquent wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. [RSV]

En aquel tiempo: Jesús vio tanta gente que sintió compasión de ellos y curó a sus enfermos. Al atardecer se le acercaron los discípulos y le dijeron: «El lugar está deshabitado, y la hora es ya avanzada. Despide, pues, a la gente, para que vayan a los pueblos y se compren comida.» Mas Jesús les contestó: «No tienen por qué marcharse; denles ustedes de comer.» Replicaron ellos: «No tenemos aquí más que cinco panes y dos peces.» Él dijo: «Tráiganmelos acá.» Entonces ordenó a la gente acomodarse sobre la hierba; tomó luego los cinco panes y los dos peces, y, levantando los ojos al cielo, pronunció la bendición y, partiéndolos, dio los panes a los discípulos, y los discípulos a la gente. Comieron todos y se saciaron. Y recogieron de los trozos sobrantes doce canastos llenos. Los que habían comido eran unos cinco mil hombres, sin contar mujeres y niños. Inmediatamente obligó a los discípulos a subir a la barca y a ir por delante de él a la otra orilla, mientras él despedía a la gente. [BJ-SAOGM]
At that time, Jesus saw a great throng; and he had compassion on them, and healed their sick. When it was evening, the disciples came to him and said, “This is a lonely place, and the day is now over; send the crowds away to go into the villages and buy food for themselves.” Jesus said, “They need not go away; you give them something to eat.” They said to him, “We have only five loaves here and two fish.” And he said, “Bring them here to me.” Then he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass; and taking the five loaves and the two fish he looked up to heaven, and blessed, and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. And they all ate and were satisfied. And they took up twelve baskets full of the broken pieces left over. And those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children. Then he made the disciples get into the boat and go before him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowds. [RSV]
Τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ, εἶδεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς πολὺν ὄχλον, καὶ ἐσπλαγχνίσθη ἐπ᾿ αὐτοῖς καὶ ἐθεράπευσε τοὺς ἀρρώστους αὐτῶν. ὀψίας δὲ γενομένης προσῆλθον αὐτῷ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ λέγοντες· ἔρημός ἐστιν ὁ τόπος καὶ ἡ ὥρα ἤδη παρῆλθεν· ἀπόλυσον τοὺς ὄχλους, ἵνα ἀπελθόντες εἰς τὰς κώμας ἀγοράσωσιν ἑαυτοῖς βρώματα. ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· οὐ χρείαν ἔχουσιν ἀπελθεῖν· δότε αὐτοῖς ὑμεῖς φαγεῖν. οἱ δὲ λέγουσιν αὐτῷ· οὐκ ἔχομεν ὧδε εἰ μὴ πέντε ἄρτους καὶ δύο ἰχθύας. ὁ δὲ εἶπε· φέρετέ μοι αὐτοὺς ὧδε. καὶ κελεύσας τοὺς ὄχλους ἀνακλιθῆναι ἐπὶ τοὺς χόρτους, λαβὼν τοὺς πέντε ἄρτους καὶ τοὺς δύο ἰχθύας, ἀναβλέψας εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν εὐλόγησε, καὶ κλάσας ἔδωκε τοῖς μαθηταῖς τοὺς ἄρτους, οἱ δὲ μαθηταὶ τοῖς ὄχλοις. καὶ ἔφαγον πάντες καὶ ἐχορτάσθησαν, καὶ ἦραν τὸ περισσεῦον τῶν κλασμάτων δώδεκα κοφίνους πλήρεις. οἱ δὲ ἐσθίοντες ἦσαν ἄνδρες ὡσεὶ πεντακισχίλιοι χωρὶς γυναικῶν καὶ παιδίων. Καὶ εὐθέως ἠνάγκασεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ ἐμβῆναι εἰς τὸ πλοῖον καὶ προάγειν αὐτὸν εἰς τὸ πέραν, ἕως οὗ ἀπολύσῃ τοὺς ὄχλους.

Digno es, en verdad, aclamarte a ti, Theotokos, la siempre bienaventurada e inmaculada, y Madre de nuestro Dios. A la más honorable que los querubines y más gloriosa, incomparablemente que los serafines; a ti, la que incorruptamente, diste a luz al Verbo de Dios, a la verdaderamente Theotokos, te exaltamos.
It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Logos. We magnify you, the true Theotokos.

We have seen the true light; we have received the heavenly Spirit; we have found the true faith, worshiping the undivided Trinity, for the Trinity has saved us.
