Tito, hijo mío, es cierta esta afirmación, y quiero que en esto te mantengas firme, para que los que creen en Dios traten de sobresalir en la práctica de las bellas obras. Esto es hermoso y útil para los hombres. Evita discusiones necias, genealogías, contiendas y disputas sobre la Ley, porque son inútiles y vanas. Rehúye al sectario, después de haberle amonestado una y otra vez; ya sabes que ése está pervertido y que su propia opinión pecaminosa lo está condenando. Cuando te envíe a Artemas o a Tíquico, date prisa en venir a mi encuentro, a Nicópolis, porque he pensado pasar allí el invierno. Cuida de proveer de todo lo necesario para el viaje a Zenón, el perito en la ley, y a Apolo, de modo que nada les falte. Que aprendan también los nuestros a sobresalir en las bellas obras, atendiendo a las necesidades urgentes, para que no sean unos inútiles. Te saludan todos los que están conmigo. Titus, my son, the saying is sure. I desire you to insist on these things, so that those who have believed in God may be careful to apply themselves to good deeds; these are excellent and profitable to men. But avoid stupid controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels over the law, for they are unprofitable and futile. As for a man who is factious, after admonishing him once or twice, have nothing more to do with him, knowing that such a person is perverted and sinful; he is self-condemned. Dijo el Señor a sus discípulos: «Ustedes son la luz del mundo. No puede ocultarse una ciudad situada en la cima de un monte. Ni tampoco se enciende una lámpara para ponerla debajo del celemín, sino en el candelero, para que alumbre a todos los que están en la casa. Brille así su luz delante de los hombres, para que vean sus buenas obras y alaben a su Padre que está en los cielos. No piensen que he venido a abolir la Ley y los Profetas. No he venido a abolirlos, sino a darles cumplimiento. Les aseguro que, mientras duren el cielo y la tierra, no dejará de estar vigente ni una letra, ni una coma de la ley hasta que todo suceda. Por tanto, el que no dé importancia a uno de estos mandamientos más pequeños y así lo enseñe a los hombres, será el más pequeño en el Reino de los Cielos; en cambio, el que los observe y los enseñe, ése será grande en el Reino de los Cielos.» [BJ-SAOGM]

Digno es, en verdad, aclamarte a ti, Theotokos, la siempre bienaventurada e inmaculada, y Madre de nuestro Dios.
