Hermanos, pensamos que el hombre es justificado por la fe, independientemente de las obras de la ley. ¿Acaso Dios lo es únicamente de los judíos y no también de los gentiles? ¡Sí, por cierto!, también de los gentiles; porque no hay más que un solo Dios, que justificará a los circuncisos en virtud de la fe y a los incircuncisos por medio de la fe. Entonces ¿por la fe privamos a la ley de su valor? ¡De ningún modo! Más bien, la consolidamos. ¿Qué diremos, pues, de Abrahán, nuestro padre según la carne? Si Abrahán obtuvo la justicia por las obras, tiene de qué gloriarse, mas no delante de Dios. En efecto, ¿qué dice la Escritura? “Creyó Abrahán en Dios y le fue contado como justicia.” [BJ-SAOGM]
Brethren, we hold that a man is justified by faith apart from works of law. Or is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles also? Yes, of Gentiles also, since God is one; and he will justify the circumcised on the ground of their faith and the uncircumcised through their faith. Do we then overthrow the law by this faith? By no means! On the contrary, we uphold the law. What then shall we say was gained by Abraham, our forefather according to the flesh? For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. For what does the scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was reckoned to him as righteousness.” [RSV]
Ἀδελφοί, λογιζόμεθα πίστει δικαιοῦσθαι ἄνθρωπον χωρὶς ἔργων νόμου. ἢ Ἰουδαίων ὁ Θεὸς μόνον; οὐχὶ δὲ καὶ ἔθνῶν; ναὶ καὶ ἐθνῶν, ἐπείπερ εἷς ὁ Θεὸς ὃς δικαιώσει περιτομὴν ἐκ πίστεως καὶ ἀκροβυστίαν διὰ τῆς πίστεως. νόμον οὖν καταργοῦμεν διὰ τῆς πίστεως; μὴ γένοιτο, ἀλλὰ νόμον ἱστῶμεν. Τί οὖν ἐροῦμεν Ἀβραὰμ τὸν πατέρα ἡμῶν εὑρηκέναι κατὰ σάρκα; εἰ γὰρ Ἀβραὰμ ἐξ ἔργων ἐδικαιώθη, ἔχει καύχημα, ἀλλ᾿ οὐ πρὸς τὸν Θεόν. τί γὰρ ἡ γραφὴ λέγει; ἐπίστευσε δὲ Ἀβραὰμ τῷ Θεῷ καὶ ἐλογίσθη αὐτῷ εἰς δικαιοσύνην.

Dijo el Señor: «Así pues, todo el que oiga estas palabras mías y las ponga en práctica, será como el hombre prudente que edificó su casa sobre roca: cayó la lluvia, vinieron los torrentes, soplaron los vientos y embistieron contra aquella casa; pero ella no cayó, porque estaba cimentada sobre roca. Y todo el que oiga estas palabras mías y no las ponga en práctica, será como el hombre insensato que edificó su casa sobre arena: cayó la lluvia, vinieron los torrentes, soplaron los vientos, irrumpieron contra aquella casa y cayó, y fue grande su ruina.» Y sucedió que cuando acabó Jesús estos discursos, la gente se asombraba de su doctrina; porque les enseñaba como quien tiene autoridad, y no como sus escribas. Cuando bajó del monte, fue siguiéndole una gran muchedumbre. En esto, un leproso se acercó y se postró ante él, diciendo: «Señor, si quieres puedes limpiarme.» Él extendió la mano, le tocó y dijo: «Quiero, queda limpio.» Y al instante quedó limpio de su lepra. Y Jesús le dice: «Mira, no se lo digas a nadie, sino vete, muéstrate al sacerdote y presenta la ofrenda que prescribió Moisés, para que les sirva de testimonio.» [BJ-SAOGM]
The Lord said, “Every one then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house upon the rock; and the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat upon that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And every one who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house upon the sand; and the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell; and great was the fall of it.” And when Jesus finished these sayings, the crowds were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as one who had authority, and not as their scribes. When he came down from the mountain, great crowds followed him; and behold, a leper came to him and knelt before him saying, “Lord, if you will, you can make me clean.” And he stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I will; be clean.” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. And Jesus said to him, “See that you say nothing to any one; but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, for a proof to them.” [RSV]

Καὶ ἰδοὺ λεπρὸς ἐλθὼν προσεκύνει αὐτῷ λέγων· Κύριε, ἐὰν θέλῃς, δύνασαί με καθαρίσαι. καὶ ἐκτείνας τὴν χεῖρα ἥψατο αὐτοῦ ὁ Ἰησοῦς λέγων· θέλω, καθαρίσθητι. καὶ εὐθέως ἐκαθαρίσθη αὐτοῦ ἡ λέπρα. καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς· ὅρα μηδενὶ εἴπῃς, ἀλλὰ ὕπαγε σεαυτὸν δεῖξον τῷ ἱερεῖ καὶ προσένεγκε τὸ δῶρον ὃ προσέταξε Μωσῆς εἰς μαρτύριον αὐτοῖς.
