Por aquellos días, mientras Apolo estaba en Corinto, Pablo atravesó las regiones altas y llegó a Éfeso, donde encontró a algunos discípulos. Les preguntó: «¿Recibieron el Espíritu Santo cuando abrazaron la fe?» Ellos contestaron: «Pero si nosotros no hemos oído decir siquiera que haya Espíritu Santo.» Él replicó: «¿Pues qué bautismo han recibido?» Respondieron: «El bautismo de Juan». Pablo añadió: «Juan bautizó con un bautismo de conversión, diciendo al pueblo que creyeran en el que había de venir después de él, o sea en Jesús.» Cuando oyeron esto, se bautizaron en el nombre del Señor Jesús. Y, en cuanto Pablo les impuso las manos, vino sobre ellos el Espíritu Santo y se pusieron a hablar en lenguas y a profetizar. Eran en total unos doce hombres. Pablo frecuentó la sinagoga durante tres meses. En ella hablaba con valentía y discutía acerca del Reino de Dios, intentando convencerles. [BJ-SAOGM]
In those days, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul passed through the upper country and came to Ephesus. There he found some disciples. And he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” And they said, “No, we have never even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” And he said, “Into what then were you baptized?” They said, “Into John’s baptism.” And Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, Jesus.” On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Spirit came on them; and they spoke with tongues and prophesied. There were about twelve of them in all. And he entered the synagogue and for three months spoke boldly, arguing and pleading about the kingdom of God. [RSV]
Ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις, ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ τὸν Ἀπολλὼ εἶναι ἐν Κορίνθῳ Παῦλον διελθόντα τὰ ἀνωτερικὰ μέρη ἐλθεῖν εἰς Ἔφεσον· καὶ εὑρὼν μαθητάς τινας εἶπε πρὸς αὐτούς· εἰ Πνεῦμα Ἅγιον ἐλάβετε πιστεύσαντες; οἱ δὲ εἶπον πρὸς αὐτόν· ἀλλ᾿ οὐδὲ εἰ Πνεῦμα Ἅγιόν ἐστιν ἠκούσαμεν. εἶπέ τε πρὸς αὐτούς· εἰς τί οὖν ἐβαπτίσθητε; οἱ δὲ εἶπον· εἰς τὸ Ἰωάννου βάπτισμα. εἶπε δὲ Παῦλος· Ἰωάννης μὲν ἐβάπτισε βάπτισμα μετανοίας, τῷ λαῷ λέγων εἰς τὸν ἐρχόμενον μετ᾿ αὐτὸν ἵνα πιστεύσωσι, τοῦτ᾿ ἔστιν εἰς τὸν Ἰησοῦν Χριστόν. ἀκούσαντες δὲ ἐβαπτίσθησαν εἰς τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ Κυρίου Ἰησοῦ. καὶ ἐπιθέντος αὐτοῖς τοῦ Παύλου τὰς χεῖρας ἦλθε τὸ Πνεῦμα τὸ Ἅγιον ἐπ᾿ αὐτούς, ἐλάλουν τε γλώσσαις καὶ προεφήτευον. ἦσαν δὲ οἱ πάντες ἄνδρες ὡσεὶ δεκαδύο. Εἰσελθὼν δὲ εἰς τὴν συναγωγὴν ἐπαρρησιάζετο ἐπὶ μῆνας τρεῖς διαλεγόμενος καὶ πείθων τὰ περὶ τῆς βασιλείας τοῦ Θεοῦ.

Dijo el Señor a sus discípulos: «No se turbe su corazón. Creen en Dios: crean también en mí. En la casa de mi Padre hay muchas mansiones; si no, no les habría dicho que voy a prepararles un lugar. Y cuando haya ido y les haya preparado un lugar, volveré y los tomaré conmigo, para que donde esté yo estén también ustedes. Y ya saben el camino adonde yo voy.» Le dijo Tomás: «Señor, no sabemos adónde vas; ¿cómo podemos saber el camino?» Respondió Jesús: «Yo soy el Camino, la Verdad y la Vida. Nadie va al Padre sino por mí. Si me conocen a mí, conocerán también a mi Padre; desde ahora lo conocen y lo han visto.» Le dijo Felipe: «Señor, muéstranos al Padre y nos basta.» Respondió Jesús: «¿Tanto tiempo hace que estoy con ustedes y no me conoces, Felipe? El que me ha visto a mí, ha visto al Padre. ¿Cómo dices tú: «Muéstranos al Padre»? ¿No crees que yo estoy en el Padre y que el Padre está en mí? Las palabras que les digo no las digo por mi cuenta; el Padre que permanece en mí es el que realiza las obras. Créanme: yo estoy en el Padre y el Padre está en mí.» [BJ-SAOGM]
The Lord said to his disciples, “Let not your hearts be troubled; you believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house there are many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And where I am going you know, and the way you know.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but by me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also; henceforth you know him and have seen him.” Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and we shall be satisfied.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you do not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father?’ Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority; but the Father who dwells in me does his works. Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father in me.” [RSV]

On May 30 we commemorate our devout Father Isaakius the Confessor, Abbot of the Monastery of Dalmatus.
Τῇ Λʹ τοῦ αὐτοῦ μηνὸς μνήμη τοῦ Ὁσίου Πατρὸς ἡμῶν Ἰσακίου ἤ Ἰσαακίου, Ἡγουμένου τῆς Μονῆς τῶν Δαλμάτων, τοῦ ὁμολογητοῦ.
Por sus santas intercesiones, Cristo Dios, ten piedad de nosotros. Amén.
