Only-begotten Son and Logos of God, being immortal, You condescended for our salvation to take flesh from the holy Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary and, without change, became man. Christ, our God, You were crucified and conquered death by death. Being one of the Holy Trinity, glorified with the Father and the Holy Spirit: Save us.

Adelantándose al alba las mujeres que estaban con María, encontraron la piedra apartada del sepulcro, y oyeron al Ángel decirles: ¿Por qué buscáis como a un muerto al que mora en la luz eterna? He aquí el sudario. Corred y anunciad al mundo que el Señor ha resucitado, habiendo dado muerte a la muerte, porque es el Hijo de Dios, que salva a la humanidad. [SAOGM]
When the women with Mary had come before dawn, and they found that the stone had been rolled away from the sepulcher, they heard from the Angel, “Why do you seek among the dead, as a mortal man, the One who exists in everlasting light? See the grave clothes in the sepulcher. Run and proclaim to the world that the Lord has risen and put death to death; for He is the Son of God who saves the human race.” [SD]

Por aquellos días, Pablo desembarcó en Cesarea y, después de subir a saludar a la iglesia, bajó a Antioquía. Después de pasar allí algún tiempo, marchó a recorrer una tras otra las regiones de Galacia y Frigia, para fortalecer a todos los discípulos. Llegó a Éfeso un judío llamado Apolo, originario de Alejandría. Era hombre elocuente, que dominaba las Escrituras. Ya había sido instruido en el Camino del Señor, por lo que hablaba y enseñaba con fervor de espíritu y con esmero todo lo referente a Jesús, aunque solamente conocía el bautismo de Juan. Éste, pues, comenzó a hablar con valentía en la sinagoga. Al oírle hablar, lo tomaron consigo Áquila y Priscila y le explicaron con más exactitud el Camino. Como Apolo quería pasar a Acaya, los hermanos le animaron a ello y escribieron a los discípulos para que lo recibieran. Una vez allí, y con el auxilio de la gracia, fue de gran provecho para los que habían creído, pues rebatía vigorosamente en público a los judíos, demostrando por las Escrituras que el Cristo era Jesús. In those days, when Paul had landed at Caesarea, he went up and greeted the church, and then went down to Antioch. After spending some time there he departed and went from place to place through the region of Galatia and Phrygia, strengthening all the disciples. Now a Jew named Apollos, a native of Alexandria, came to Ephesus. He was an eloquent man, well versed in the scriptures. He had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spoke and taught accurately the things concerning Jesus, though he knew only the baptism of John. He began to speak boldly in the synagogue; but when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him and expounded to him the way of God more accurately. And when he wished to cross to Achaia, the brethren encouraged him, and wrote to the disciples to receive him. When he arrived, he greatly helped those who through grace had believed, for he powerfully refuted the Jews in public, showing by the scriptures that the Christ was Jesus. [RSV]

Dijo el Señor a los judíos que vinieron a Él: «Mientras tienen la luz, crean en la luz, para que sean hijos de luz.» Dicho esto, se marchó Jesús y se ocultó de ellos. Aunque había realizado tan grandes signos delante de ellos, no creían en él. Así se cumplía el oráculo pronunciado por el profeta Isaías: Señor, ¿quién dio crédito a nuestras palabras? ¿A quién se le reveló el poder del Señor? No podían creer, porque también había dicho Isaías: Ha cegado sus ojos, ha endurecido su corazón; para que no vean con los ojos, ni comprendan con su corazón, ni se conviertan, ni yo los sane. Isaías dijo esto porque vio su gloria y habló de él. Sin embargo, incluso muchos magistrados creyeron en él; pero no lo confesaban por los fariseos, para no ser excluidos de la sinagoga, porque prefirieron la gloria de los hombres a la gloria de Dios. Jesús dijo a voz en cuello: «El que cree en mí, no cree en mí, sino en aquel que me ha enviado; y el que me ve a mí, ve a aquel que me ha enviado. Yo, la luz, he venido al mundo para que todo el que crea en mí no siga entre tinieblas. The Lord said to the Jews who came to him, “While you have the light, believe in the light, that you may become sons of light.” When Jesus had said this, he departed and hid himself from them. Though he had done so many signs before them, yet they did not believe in him; it was that the word spoken by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled: “Lord, who has believed our report, and to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?” Therefore they could not believe. For Isaiah again said, “He has blinded their eyes and hardened their heart, lest they should see with their eyes and perceive with their heart, and turn for me to heal them.” Isaiah said this when he saw his glory and spoke of him. Nevertheless, many even of the authorities believed in him, but for fear of the Pharisees they did not confess it, lest they should be put out of the synagogue: for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God. And Jesus cried out and said, “He who believes in me, believes not in me but in him who sent me. And he who sees me sees him who sent me. I have come as light into the world, that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness. If any one hears my sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.” [RSV]
