En aquellos días, Pablo y Bernabé se quedaron en Antioquía enseñando y anunciando, en compañía de otros muchos, la Buena Nueva, la palabra del Señor. Al cabo de algunos días, dijo Pablo a Bernabé: «Volvamos ya a ver cómo les va a los hermanos en todas aquellas ciudades en que anunciamos la palabra del Señor.» Bernabé quería llevar también con ellos a Juan, llamado Marcos. Pablo, en cambio, pensaba que no debían llevar consigo al que se había separado de ellos en Panfilia y no les había acompañado en su tarea. Se produjo entonces una tirantez tal que acabaron por separarse el uno del otro: Bernabé tomó consigo a Marcos y se embarcó rumbo a Chipre. Por su parte, Pablo eligió como compañero a Silas y partió, encomendado por los hermanos a la gracia de Dios. Pablo recorrió Siria y Cilicia consolidando las iglesias. [BJ-SAOGM]
In those days, Paul and Barnabas remained in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also. And after some days Paul said to Barnabas, “Come, let us return and visit the brethren in every city where we proclaimed the word of the Lord, and see how they are.” And Barnabas wanted to take with them John called Mark. But Paul thought best not to take with them one who had withdrawn from them in Pamphylia, and had not gone with them to the work. And there arose a sharp contention, so that they separated from each other; Barnabas took Mark with him and sailed away to Cyprus, but Paul chose Silas and departed, being commended by the brethren to the grace of the Lord. And he went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the churches. [RSV]
Ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις, Παῦλος καὶ Βαρνάβας διέτριβον ἐν Ἀντιοχείᾳ διδάσκοντες καὶ εὐαγγελιζόμενοι μετὰ καὶ ἑτέρων πολλῶν τὸν λόγον τοῦ Κυρίου. Μετὰ δέ τινας ἡμέρας εἶπε Παῦλος πρὸς Βαρνάβαν· ἐπιστρέψαντες δὴ ἐπισκεψώμεθα τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς ἡμῶν κατὰ πᾶσαν πόλιν ἐν αἷς κατηγγείλαμεν τὸν λόγον τοῦ Κυρίου, πῶς ἔχουσι. Βαρνάβας δὲ ἐβουλεύσατο συμπαραλαβεῖν τὸν Ἰωάννην τὸν ἐπικαλούμενον Μᾶρκον· Παῦλος δὲ ἠξίου, τὸν ἀποστάντα ἀπ᾿ αὐτῶν ἀπὸ Παμφυλίας καὶ μὴ συνελθόντα αὐτοῖς εἰς τὸ ἔργον, μὴ συμπαραλαβεῖν τοῦτον. ἐγένετο οὖν παροξυσμός, ὥστε ἀποχωρισθῆναι αὐτοὺς ἀπ᾿ ἀλλήλων, τόν τε Βαρνάβαν παραλαβόντα τὸν Μᾶρκον ἐκπλεῦσαι εἰς Κύπρον. Παῦλος δὲ ἐπιλεξάμενος Σίλαν ἐξῆλθε, παραδοθεὶς τῇ χάριτι τοῦ Θεοῦ ὑπὸ τῶν ἀδελφῶν, διήρχετο δὲ τὴν Συρίαν καὶ Κιλικίαν ἐπιστηρίζων τὰς ἐκκλησίας.

Dijo el Señor a los judíos que vinieron a Él: «Mis ovejas escuchan mi voz; yo las conozco y ellas mi siguen. Yo les doy vida eterna y no perecerán jamás, y nadie las arrebatará de mi mano. El Padre, que me las ha dado, es más grande que todos, y nadie puede arrebatar nada de la mano del Padre. Yo y el Padre somos uno.» Los judíos trajeron otra vez piedras para apedrearle. Jesús les dijo: «Les he mostrado muchas obras buenas de parte del Padre. ¿Por cuál de esas obras quieren apedrearme?» Le respondieron los judíos: «No queremos apedrearte por ninguna obra buena, sino por una blasfemia, y porque tú, siendo hombre, te haces a ti mismo Dios.» Jesús les respondió: «¿No está escrito en su Ley: ‘Yo he dicho: dioses son’? Si llama dioses a aquellos a quienes se dirigió la palabra de Dios —y no puede fallar la Escritura—, a aquel a quien el Padre ha santificado y enviado al mundo, ¿cómo le dicen que blasfema por haber dicho: ‘Yo soy Hijo de Dios’? Si no hago las obras de mi Padre, no me crean; pero si las hago, aunque a mí no me crean, crean al menos por las obras, y así sabrán y conocerán que el Padre está en mí y yo en el Padre.» [BJ-SAOGM]
The Lord said to the Jews who came to him, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me; and I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” The Jews took up stones again to stone him. Jesus answered them, “I have shown you many good works from my Father; for which of these do you stone me?” The Jews answered him, “It is not for a good work that we stone you but for blasphemy; because you, being a man, make yourself God.” Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, you are gods?’ If he called them gods to whom the word of God came (and scripture cannot be broken), do you say of him whom the Father consecrated and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’? If I am not doing the works of my Father, then do not believe me; but if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe my works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in him.” [RSV]

Ἐβάστασαν οὖν πάλιν λίθους οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι ἵνα λιθάσωσιν αὐτόν. ἀπεκρίθη αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς· πολλὰ καλὰ ἔργα ἔδειξα ὑμῖν ἐκ τοῦ πατρός μου· διὰ ποῖον αὐτῶν ἔργον λιθάζετέ με; ἀπεκρίθησαν αὐτῷ οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι λέγοντες· περὶ καλοῦ ἔργου οὐ λιθάζομέν σε, ἀλλὰ περὶ βλασφημίας, καὶ ὅτι σὺ ἄνθρωπος ὢν ποιεῖς σεαυτὸν Θεόν. ἀπεκρίθη αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς· οὐκ ἔστι γεγραμμένον ἐν τῷ νόμῳ ὑμῶν, ἐγὼ εἶπα, θεοί ἐστε; εἰ ἐκείνους εἶπε θεούς, πρὸς οὓς ὁ λόγος τοῦ Θεοῦ ἐγένετο, καὶ οὐ δύναται λυθῆναι ἡ γραφή, ὃν ὁ πατὴρ ἡγίασε καὶ ἀπέστειλεν εἰς τὸν κόσμον, ὑμεῖς λέγετε ὅτι βλασφημεῖς, ὅτι εἶπον, υἱὸς τοῦ Θεοῦ εἰμι; εἰ οὐ ποιῶ τὰ ἔργα τοῦ πατρός μου, μὴ πιστεύετέ μοι· εἰ δὲ ποιῶ, κἂν ἐμοὶ μὴ πιστεύητε, τοῖς ἔργοις πιστεύσατε, ἵνα γνῶτε καὶ πιστεύσητε ὅτι ἐν ἐμοὶ ὁ πατὴρ κἀγὼ ἐν αὐτῷ.
