Por aquellos días, Pablo marchó con Bernabé a Derbe. Después de evangelizar aquella ciudad y conseguir bastantes discípulos, se volvieron a Listra, Iconio y Antioquía, confortando los ánimos de los discípulos, exhortándolos a perseverar en la fe y diciéndoles: «Es necesario que pasemos por muchas tribulaciones para entrar en el Reino de Dios.» Designaron presbíteros en cada iglesia y, después de hacer oración acompañada de ayunos, los encomendaron al Señor en quien habían creído. Atravesaron Pisidia y llegaron a Panfilia; predicaron en Perge la palabra y bajaron a Atalía. Allí se embarcaron para Antioquía, de donde habían partido encomendados a la gracia de Dios para la obra que habían realizado. A su llegada reunieron a la iglesia y se pusieron a contar todo cuanto Dios había hecho juntamente con ellos y cómo había abierto a los gentiles la puerta de la fe. Allí permanecieron bastante tiempo, en compañía de los discípulos. Bajaron algunos de Judea que adoctrinaban así a los hermanos: «Si no se circuncidan conforme a la costumbre mosaica, no pueden salvarse.» Esto fue ocasión de una acalorada discusión de Pablo y Bernabé contra ellos. Así que decidieron que Pablo y Bernabé y algunos más de ellos subieran a Jerusalén, adonde los apóstoles y presbíteros, para tratar esta cuestión. Enviados así por la iglesia, fueron atravesando Fenicia y Samaría, contando al detalle la conversión de los gentiles y produciendo gran alegría en todos los hermanos. Llegados a Jerusalén, fueron recibidos por la iglesia y por los apóstoles y presbíteros, y contaron cuanto Dios había hecho juntamente con ellos. [BJ-SAOGM]
In those days, Paul went on with Barnabas to Derbe. When they had preached the gospel to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and to Iconion and to Antioch, strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying that through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God. And when they had appointed elders for them in every church, with prayer and fasting they committed them to the Lord in whom they believed. Then they passed through Pisidia, and came to Pamphylia. And when they had spoken the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia; and from there they sailed to Antioch, where they had been commended to the grace of God for the work which they had fulfilled. And when they arrived, they gathered the church together and declared all that God had done with them, and how he had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles. And they remained no little time with the disciples. But some men came down from Judea and were teaching the brethren, “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.” And when Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and debate with them, Paul and Barnabas and some of the others were appointed to go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and the elders about this question. So, being sent on their way by the church, they passed through both Phoenicia and Samaria, reporting the conversion of the Gentiles, and they gave great joy to all the brethren. And when they came to Jerusalem, they were welcomed by the church and the apostles and the elders, and they declared all that God had done with them. [RSV]

Dijo el Señor a los judíos que vinieron a Él: «Para un juicio he venido a este mundo: para que los que no ven, vean; y los que ven, se vuelvan ciegos.» Algunos fariseos que estaban con él oyeron esto y le dijeron: «¿Es que también nosotros somos ciegos?» Jesús les respondió: «Si fueran ciegos, no tendrían pecado; pero, como dicen que ven, su pecado sigue en ustedes.» «En verdad, en verdad les digo que el que no entra por la puerta en el redil de las ovejas, sino que escala por otro lado, ése es un ladrón y un salteador; pero el que entra por la puerta es pastor de las ovejas. A éste le abre el portero, y las ovejas atienden a su voz; luego las llama una por una y las saca fuera. Cuando ha sacado a todas, va delante de ellas, y las ovejas le siguen, porque conocen su voz. En cambio, no seguirían a un extraño; huirían de él, pues las ovejas no reconocen la voz de los extraños.» Jesús les dijo esta parábola, pero ellos no comprendieron lo que les hablaba. Entonces Jesús les dijo de nuevo: «En verdad, en verdad les digo que yo soy la puerta de las ovejas. Cuantos han venido delante de mí son ladrones y salteadores; pero las ovejas no les escucharon. Yo soy la puerta. Si uno entra por mí, estará a salvo; entrará y saldrá, y encontrará pasto.» [BJ-SAOGM]
The Lord said to the Jews who came to him, “For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may become blind.” Some of the Pharisees near him heard this, and they said to him, “Are we also blind?” Jesus said to them, “If you were blind, you would have no guilt; but now that you say, ‘We see,’ your guilt remains. Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber; but he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the gatekeeper opens; the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.” This figure Jesus used with them, but they did not understand what he was saying to them. So Jesus again said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. All who came before me are thieves and robbers; but the sheep did not heed them. I am the door; if any one enters by me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.” [RSV]
