Today is the summary of our salvation, and the revelation of the age-old mystery. For the Son of God becomes the Son of the Virgin, and Gabriel announces the good news of grace. Therefore, let us join him, and cry aloud to the Theotokos: “Rejoice, Maiden full of grace! The Lord is with you.” [SD]

Again we pray for the eternal memory and blessed repose of all those who fought and sacrificed themselves in our Nation’s sacred fights for faith and country, and for the forgiveness of all their offenses, both voluntary and involuntary.

Suplicamos también por este santo templo, por esta ciudad y por cada ciudad en cualquier país, para que sean protegidos de todo tipo de ira, hambre, peste, terremoto, inundación, fuego, espada, invasión de otro país, conflicto civil, y muerte accidental. Que nuestro Dios filántropo demuestre su misericordia, su gracia, y su favor, al alejar de nosotros toda ira y enfermedad, rescatándonos de su justo castigo, y teniendo piedad de nosotros.
Again we pray for the protection of the Holy and Great Church of Christ, our Sacred Archdiocese (and this Sacred Metropolis), this city and every city and land, from wrath, famine, pestilence, earthquake, flood, fire, sword, foreign invasion, civil strife, and accidental death. That our good and benevolent God may be merciful, gracious, and forgiving, and may divert and disperse all anger and disease coming against us, and deliver us from His impending justified threat and have mercy on us.

Oh Señor nuestro Dios, tú sostienes al universo con tu poder y gobiernas al mundo con tu voluntad divina y todopoderosa. Tú creaste “de un solo principio, todo el linaje humano, para que habitara sobre toda la tierra, y fijó los tiempos determinados y los límites del lugar donde habían de habitar”. Has tratado con gran bondad a nuestra piadosa nación griega, otorgándole el conocimiento de tu verdad, guiándola hacia la luz de la fe ortodoxa, y mediante ella levantado grandes padres y maestros para la Iglesia. Durante siglos la mantuviste libre, por tu divina gracia; y cuando fue subyugada, la preservaste, y luego la liberaste y la resucitaste a una vida de libertad una vez más. Oh más benevolente Maestro, hoy que celebramos el aniversario de la revolución griega, declarada por nuestros padres en tu santo nombre el día solemne de la Anunciación mientras luchaban por la fe y la patria, acepta nuestra gratitud y glorificación, y escúchanos que te imploramos con fe. Suplicamos por las almas de nuestros padres y hermanos que lucharon y se sacrificaron por nuestra fe y nuestra patria; ya sea que fueran asesinados en batalla, colgados o ejecutados, o murieran en cautiverio y adversidad, concédeles el descanso junto a tus santos. En cuanto a nosotros, concédenos ser dignos de la libertad y presérvanos en paz. O Lord our God, You hold the universe together by Your power, and You govern the world by Your divine, almighty will. You “made from one every nation of men to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and the boundaries of their habitation.” You have been especially good to our pious Greek nation, granting it the knowledge of Your truth, leading it to the light of the Orthodox faith, and raising from it great Fathers and Teachers for the Church. For centuries You kept it free, by Your divine grace; and when it was subjugated, You preserved it, and then delivered it and resurrected it to a life of liberty once again. O all-benevolent Master, today as we celebrate the annual remembrance of the Greek Revolution, that our fathers declared in Your holy name on this festive day of the Annunciation, as they proceeded to fight for faith and country, accept our gratitude and glorification, and hear us as we implore You with faith. We pray for the souls of our fathers and brethren who for our faith and country fought and sacrificed themselves; whether they were slain in battle, hanged or executed, or they died in captivity and adversity, grant them rest together with Your Saints. As for us, grant that we all be worthy of freedom, and preserve us in peace. Maintain all officials and authorities of our Government in peace and concord, and grant stability to both Church and State. For You are the Lord of peace and the Savior of our souls, and to You we offer up glory, to the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and ever and to the ages of ages.

El que por nosotros y para nuestra salvación se dignó a encarnarse del Espíritu Santo y de la Virgen María, Cristo, verdadero Dios nuestro, por las intercesiones de su purísima e inmaculada Madre, cuya anunciación celebramos; por el poder de la vivificante y preciosa Cruz, la protección de las celestiales potestades incorpóreas, las súplicas del venerable y glorioso profeta, precursor y bautista Juan, de los santos, gloriosos y alabadísimos apóstoles, de los santos, gloriosos y victoriosos mártires, de nuestros justos y teóforos padres, (santo patrono del templo local); de los santos y justos familiares del Señor, Joaquín y Ana, y de todos los santos, tenga misericordia de nosotros y sálvanos, pues eres un Dios bondadoso y filántropo.
May He who for us men and for our salvation condescended to become incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, Christ our true God, through the intercessions of His all-pure and all-immaculate holy Mother, whose Annunciation we celebrate; the power of the precious and life-giving Cross, the protection of the honorable, bodiless powers of heaven, the supplications of the honorable, glorious prophet and forerunner John the Baptist, of the holy, glorious, and praiseworthy apostles, of the holy, glorious, and triumphant martyrs, of our righteous and God-bearing fathers, (local patron saint); of the holy and righteous ancestors of God Joachim and Anna, and of all the saints, have mercy on us and save us, as He is good, benevolent, and merciful God.
