Hermanos, no queremos que estén en la ignorancia respecto de los muertos, para que no se entristezcan como los que no tienen esperanza. Porque si creemos que Jesús murió y resucitó, de la misma manera Dios se llevará consigo a quienes murieron en Jesús. Les decimos esto como palabra del Señor: Nosotros, los que vivamos, los que quedemos hasta la Venida del Señor, no nos adelantaremos a los que murieron. Dijo el Señor: «Miren, no se dejen engañar. Porque vendrán muchos usurpando mi nombre y diciendo: ‘Yo soy’ y ‘El tiempo está cerca’. No les sigan. Cuando oigan hablar de guerras y revoluciones, no se aterren. Es necesario que sucedan primero estas cosas, pero el fin no es inmediato. Habrá señales en el sol, en la luna y en las estrellas; y en la tierra, naciones angustiadas, trastornadas por el estruendo del mar y de las olas. Los hombres se quedarán sin aliento, presa del terror y la ansiedad, al ver las cosas que se abatirán sobre el mundo, porque las fuerzas de los cielos se tambalearán. Entonces verán venir al Hijo del hombre en una nube con gran poder y gloria. Cuando empiecen a suceder estas cosas, cobren ánimo y levanten la cabeza, porque se acerca su liberación. Digno es, en verdad, aclamarte a ti, Theotokos, la siempre bienaventurada e inmaculada, y Madre de nuestro Dios. A la más honorable que los querubines y más gloriosa, incomparablemente que los serafines; a ti, la que incorruptamente, diste a luz al Verbo de Dios, a la verdaderamente Theotokos, te exaltamos.
It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Logos. We magnify you, the true Theotokos.

Give them rest in a place of light, in a place of green pasture, in a place of refreshment, from where pain, sorrow, and sighing have fled away.
