Hermanos, ya no son extraños ni forasteros, sino conciudadanos de los santos y familiares de Dios, edificados sobre el cimiento de los apóstoles y profetas. Y la piedra angular es Cristo mismo, en quien toda edificación bien trabada se eleva hasta formar un templo santo en el Señor, en quien también ustedes con ellos están siendo edificados, para ser morada de Dios mediante el Espíritu. Por lo cual yo, Pablo, el prisionero de Cristo en favor de ustedes, los gentiles, si es que conocen la misión de la gracia que Dios me concedió en provecho de ustedes: cómo me fue comunicado por una revelación el conocimiento del misterio, tal como brevemente acabo de exponerles. Por la lectura de la carta podrán captar mi conocimiento del misterio de Cristo, un misterio que no fue dado a conocer a los hombres en generaciones pasadas. Ahora, en cambio, ha sido revelado a sus santos apóstoles y profetas por medio del Espíritu: que los gentiles son coherederos, miembros del mismo cuerpo y partícipes de la misma promesa cumplida en Cristo Jesús. Todo ello ha sido anunciado por medio del Evangelio, del cual he llegado a ser ministro, conforme al don que Dios me ha concedido por la fuerza de su poder. [BJ-SAOGM] |
Brethren, you are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure is joined together and grows into a holy temple in the Lord in whom you also are built into it for a dwelling place of God in the Spirit. For this reason I, Paul, a prisoner for Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles — assuming that you have heard of the stewardship of God’s grace that was given to me for you, how the mystery was made known to me by revelation, as I have written briefly. When you read this you can perceive my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to the sons of men in other generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; that is, how the Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel. Of this gospel I was made a minister according to the gift of God’s grace which was given me by the working of his power. [RSV] |

Dijo el Señor a sus discípulos: «Si alguno quiere venir en pos de mí, niéguese a sí mismo, tome su cruz cada día y sígame. Porque quien quiera salvar su vida, la perderá; pero quien pierda su vida por mí, la salvará. Pues ¿de qué le sirve al hombre haber ganado el mundo entero, si él mismo se pierde o se arruina? Porque quien se avergüence de mí y de mis palabras, también el Hijo del hombre se avergonzará de él cuando venga en su gloria, en la de su Padre y en la de los santos ángeles. «Pues de verdad les digo que algunos de los aquí presentes no gustarán la muerte hasta que vean el Reino de Dios.» [BJ-SAOGM] |
The Lord said to his disciples, “If any man would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it; and whoever loses his life for my sake, he will save it. For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself? For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of man be ashamed when he comes in his glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. But I tell you truly, there are some standing here who will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God.” [RSV] |
