Hermanos, si aún predicase la circuncisión, no tendría por qué ser perseguido. ¡En tal caso, la cruz ya no supondría ningún escándalo para quienes me persiguen! ¡Ojalá que se mutilaran los que los perturban! Ustedes, hermanos, han sido llamados a la libertad. Pero no tomen de esa libertad pretexto para la carne; antes al contrario, sírvanse unos a otros por amor. Pues toda la ley alcanza su plenitud en este solo precepto: ‘Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo’. ¡Entonces cuidado!, pues si andan mordiéndose y devorándose unos a otros, van a acabar destruyéndose mutuamente. Les digo, pues, que procedan según el Espíritu, sin dar vía libre a las meras apetencias humanas, es decir, a la carne. Pues la carne tiene apetencias contrarias al espíritu, y el espíritu contrarias a la carne; y son tan opuestos entre sí, que no hacen lo que quieren. Pero, si son guiados por el Espíritu, ya no están bajo la ley. Ahora bien, las obras de la carne son bien conocidas: fornicación, impureza, libertinaje, idolatría, hechicería, odios, discordia, celos, iras, ambición, divisiones, disensiones, rivalidades, borracheras, comilonas y cosas semejantes. Sobre todo esto les prevengo; ya les advertí que quienes hacen tales cosas no heredarán el Reino de Dios. [BJ-SAOGM]

Brethren, if I still preach circumcision, why am I still persecuted? In that case the stumbling block of the cross has been removed. I wish those who unsettle you would mutilate themselves! For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love be servants of one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” But if you bite and devour one another take heed that you are not consumed by one another. But I say, walk by the Spirit, and do not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh; for these are opposed to each other, to prevent you from doing what you would. But if you are led by the Spirit you are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are plain: adultery, fornication, impurity, licentiousness, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger, selfishness, dissension, party spirit, envy, murder, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. [RSV]

Ἀδελφοί, εἰ περιτομὴν ἔτι κηρύσσω, τί ἔτι διώκομαι; ἄρα κατήργηται τὸ σκάνδαλον τοῦ σταυροῦ. ὄφελον καὶ ἀποκόψονται οἱ ἀναστατοῦντες ὑμᾶς. ῾Υμεῖς γὰρ ἐπ᾽ ἐλευθερίᾳ ἐκλήθητε, ἀδελφοί· μόνον μὴ τὴν ἐλευθερίαν εἰς ἀφορμὴν τῇ σαρκί, ἀλλὰ διὰ τῆς ἀγάπης δουλεύετε ἀλλήλοις. ὁ γὰρ πᾶς νόμος ἐν ἑνὶ λόγῳ πληροῦται, ἐν τῷ, ἀγαπήσεις τὸν πλησίον σου ὡς σεαυτόν. εἰ δὲ ἀλλήλους δάκνετε καὶ κατεσθίετε, βλέπετε μὴ ὑπ᾽ ἀλλήλων ἀναλωθῆτε. Λέγω δέ, πνεύματι περιπατεῖτε καὶ ἐπιθυμίαν σαρκὸς οὐ μὴ τελέσητε. ἡ γὰρ σὰρξ ἐπιθυμεῖ κατὰ τοῦ πνεύματος, τὸ δὲ πνεῦμα κατὰ τῆς σαρκός· ταῦτα δὲ ἀντίκειται ἀλλήλοις, ἵνα μὴ ἃ ἂν θέλητε ταῦτα ποιῆτε. εἰ δὲ Πνεύματι ἄγεσθε, οὐκ ἐστὲ ὑπὸ νόμον. φανερὰ δέ ἐστι τὰ ἔργα τῆς σαρκός, ἅτινά ἐστι μοιχεία, πορνεία, ἀκαθαρσία, ἀσέλγεια, εἰδωλολατρία, φαρμακεία, ἔχθραι, ἔρεις, ζῆλοι, θυμοί, ἐριθεῖαι, διχοστασίαι, αἱρέσεις, φθόνοι, φόνοι, μέθαι, κῶμοι καὶ τὰ ὅμοια τούτοις, ἃ προλέγω ὑμῖν καθὼς καὶ προεῖπον, ὅτι οἱ τὰ τοιαῦτα πράσσοντες βασιλείαν Θεοῦ οὐ κληρονομήσουσιν.

En aquel tiempo, Jesús recorrió ciudades y pueblos, proclamando y anunciando la Buena Nueva del Reino de Dios. Le acompañaban los Doce y algunas mujeres que habían sido curadas de espíritus malignos y enfermedades: María, llamada Magdalena, de la que habían salido siete demonios, Juana, mujer de Cusa, un administrador de Herodes, Susana y otras muchas que les servían con sus bienes. At that time, Jesus went through cities and villages, preaching and bringing the good news of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with him, and also some women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities: Mary, called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out, and Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others, who provided for him out of their means. [RSV]
