Verso 1: Bueno es alabar al Señor, y cantar salmos a tu nombre, oh Altísimo. [BASJ]

Only-begotten Son and Logos of God, being immortal, You condescended for our salvation to take flesh from the holy Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary and, without change, became man. Christ, our God, You were crucified and conquered death by death. Being one of the Holy Trinity, glorified with the Father and the Holy Spirit: Save us.

Becoming a partner with the Apostles in way of life and successor to their thrones, O God-inspired Saint, in the active life you found an entrance to contemplation. Hence you rightly expounded the word of truth, and you shed your blood in struggling for the faith, O Hieromartyr Cyprian. Intercede with Christ our God, beseeching Him to save our souls. [SD]

Timoteo, hijo mío, doy gracias a aquel que me revistió de fortaleza, a Cristo Jesús, Señor nuestro, que me consideró digno de confianza al colocarme en el ministerio, a mí que antes fui un blasfemo, un perseguidor y un insolente. Pero encontré misericordia porque obré por ignorancia cuando no era creyente. Pero la gracia de nuestro Señor sobreabundó en mí, juntamente con la fe y la caridad en Cristo Jesús. Es cierta y digna de ser aceptada por todos esta afirmación: Cristo Jesús vino al mundo a salvar a los pecadores; y el primero de ellos soy yo. Y si encontré misericordia fue para que en mí, el primero, manifestase Jesús Cristo toda su paciencia y sirviera de ejemplo a los que habían de creer en él para obtener vida eterna. Al Rey de los siglos, al Dios inmortal, invisible y único, honor y gloria por los siglos de los siglos. Amén. [BJ-SAOGM]

Timothy, my son, I thank him who has given me strength for this, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he judged me faithful by appointing me to his service, though I formerly blasphemed and persecuted and insulted him; but I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief, and the grace of our Lord overflowed for me with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. Dijo el Señor: «¿Por qué me dicen ‘Señor, Señor’ y no hacen lo que digo? Voy a explicarles a quién se parece todo el que viene a mí, escucha mis palabras y las pone en práctica. Se parece a un hombre que, al edificar una casa, cavó profundamente y puso los cimientos sobre roca. Al sobrevenir una inundación, rompió el torrente contra aquella casa, pero no pudo destruirla por estar bien edificada. Pero el que las ha escuchado y no las ha puesto en práctica se parece a un hombre que edificó una casa sobre tierra, sin cimientos, contra la que rompió el torrente: la casa se desplomó al instante y su ruina fue estrepitosa.» Cuando Jesús terminó de hablar así a la gente, entró en Cafarnaún. Digno es, en verdad, aclamarte a ti, Teotocos, la siempre bienaventurada e inmaculada, y Madre de nuestro Dios. A la más honorable que los querubines y más gloriosa, incomparablemente que los serafines; a ti, la que incorruptamente, diste a luz al Verbo de Dios, a la verdaderamente Teotocos, te exaltamos.

It is truly right to bless you, Theotokos, ever blessed, most pure, and Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim, and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption you gave birth to God the Logos. We magnify you, the true Theotokos.
