Only-begotten Son and Logos of God, being immortal, You condescended for our salvation to take flesh from the holy Theotokos and ever-virgin Mary and, without change, became man. Christ, our God, You were crucified and conquered death by death. Being one of the Holy Trinity, glorified with the Father and the Holy Spirit: Save us.

Hermanos, tengan entre ustedes los mismos sentimientos que Cristo: El cual, siendo de condición divina, no reivindicó su derecho a ser tratado igual a Dios, sino que se despojó de sí mismo tomando condición de esclavo. Asumiendo semejanza humana y apareciendo en su porte como hombre, se rebajó a sí mismo, haciéndose obediente hasta la muerte, y una muerte de cruz. Por eso Dios lo exaltó y le otorgó el Nombre, que está sobre todo nombre. Para que al nombre de Jesús toda rodilla se doble en los cielos, en la tierra y en los abismos, y toda lengua confiese que Cristo Jesús es el SEÑOR para gloria de Dios Padre. [BJ-SAOGM]

Brethren, have this mind among yourselves, which you have in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. En aquel tiempo, Jesús entró en un pueblo, donde una mujer, llamada Marta, lo recibió en su casa. Tenía ésta una hermana llamada María, que, sentada a los pies del Señor, escuchaba su palabra, mientras Marta estaba atareada en muchos quehaceres. Al fin, se paró y dijo: «Señor, ¿no te importa que mi hermana me deje sola en el trabajo? Dile, pues, que me ayude.» Le respondió el Señor: «Marta, Marta, te preocupas y te agitas por muchas cosas; y hay necesidad de pocas, o mejor, de una sola. María ha elegido la mejor parte, que no le será quitada.» Estaba él hablando así, cuando una mujer de entre la gente dijo en voz alta: «¡Dichoso el seno que te llevó y los pechos que te criaron!» Pero él dijo: «Dichosos más bien los que oyen la palabra de Dios y la guardan.» [BJ-SAOGM]

At that time, Jesus entered a village; and a woman called Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet and listened to his teaching. But Martha was distracted with much serving; and she went to him and said, “Lord, do you not care that my sister has left me to serve you alone? Tell her then to help me.” But the Lord answered her, “Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled about many things; one thing is needful. Mary has chosen the good portion, which shall not be taken away from her.” As he said this, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to him, “Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts that nursed you!” But he said, “Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!” [RSV]

Vimos la luz verdadera. Recibimos el Espíritu celestial. Encontramos la verdadera fe, adorando a la Trinidad indivisible, pues ella nos salvó.

We have seen the true light; we have received the heavenly Spirit; we have found the true faith, worshiping the undivided Trinity, for the Trinity has saved us.

Cristo, verdadero Dios nuestro, por las intercesiones de su purísima e inmaculada Madre, por el poder de la vivificante y preciosa Cruz, la protección de las celestiales potestades incorpóreas, las súplicas del venerable y glorioso profeta, precursor y bautista Juan, de los santos, gloriosos y alabadísimos apóstoles, de los santos, gloriosos y victoriosos mártires, de nuestros justos y teóforos padres, (santo patrono del templo local); de los santos y justos familiares del Señor, Joaquín y Ana, y de todos los santos, tenga misericordia de nosotros y sálvanos, pues eres un Dios bondadoso y filántropo.

May Christ our true God, through the intercessions of His all-pure and all-immaculate holy Mother, the power of the precious and life-giving Cross, the protection of the honorable, bodiless powers of heaven, the supplications of the honorable, glorious prophet and forerunner John the Baptist, of the holy, glorious, and praiseworthy apostles, of the holy, glorious, and triumphant martyrs, of our righteous and God-bearing fathers, (local patron saint); of the holy and righteous ancestors of God Joachim and Anna, and of all the saints, have mercy on us and save us, as He is good, benevolent, and merciful God.

Strict: Refrain from meat, fish, oil, dairy, and eggs.
