Hermanos, el cuerpo humano, aunque tiene muchos miembros, es uno; es decir: todos los miembros del cuerpo, no obstante su pluralidad, forman un solo cuerpo. Pues así también es Cristo. Porque hemos sido todos bautizados en un solo Espíritu, para no formar más que un cuerpo entre todos: judíos y griegos, esclavos y libres. Y todos hemos bebido de un solo Espíritu. Así también, el cuerpo no se compone de un solo miembro, sino de muchos. Si dijera el pie: «Puesto que no soy mano, no pertenezco al cuerpo», ¿dejaría por eso de formar parte del cuerpo? Y si el oído dijera: «Puesto que no soy ojo, no pertenezco al cuerpo», ¿dejaría por eso de formar parte del cuerpo? Si todo el cuerpo fuera ojo, ¿dónde quedaría el oído?; y, si fuera todo oído, ¿dónde estaría el olfato? Ahora bien, Dios colocó cada uno de los miembros del cuerpo donde quiso. Si todo fuera un solo miembro, ¿dónde quedaría el cuerpo? Por tanto, aunque los miembros son muchos, el cuerpo es sólo uno. Y no puede el ojo decir a la mano: «¡No te necesito!», ni la cabeza a los pies: «¡No os necesito!» Pensemos que los miembros del cuerpo que consideramos más débiles, son indispensables; y que solemos cubrir con mayor dignidad a los que nos parecen los más viles. Así, a nuestras partes menos honrosas las vestimos con mayor recato, pues nuestras partes honrosas no lo necesitan. Dios ha formado el cuerpo dando más honor a los miembros que carecían de él, para que no hubiera división alguna en el cuerpo, sino que todos los miembros se preocuparan lo mismo los unos de los otros. Si sufre un miembro, todos los demás sufren con él; si un miembro es honrado, todos los demás toman parte en su alegría. [BJ-SAOGM]
Brethren, just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ. For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body — Jews or Greeks, slaves or free — and all were made to drink of one Spirit. For the body does not consist of one member but of many. If the foot should say, “because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” that would not make it any less a part of the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would be the hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell? But as it is, God arranged the organs in the body, each one of them, as he chose. If all were a single organ, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, yet one body. The eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you,” nor again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” On the contrary, the parts of the body which seem to be weaker are indispensable, and those parts of the body which we think less honorable we invest with the greater honor, and our unpresentable parts are treated with greater modesty, which our presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving the greater honor to the inferior part, that there may be no discord in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. If one member suffers, all the members suffer together; if one member is glorified, all the members rejoice together. [RSV]
Ἀδελφοί, καθάπερ τὸ σῶμα ἕν ἐστι καὶ μέλη ἔχει πολλά, πάντα δὲ τὰ μέλη τοῦ σώματος τοῦ ἑνός, πολλὰ ὄντα, ἕν ἐστι σῶμα, οὕτω καὶ ὁ Χριστός· καὶ γὰρ ἐν ἑνὶ Πνεύματι ἡμεῖς πάντες εἰς ἓν σῶμα ἐβαπτίσθημεν, εἴτε Ἰουδαῖοι εἴτε Ἕλληνες, εἴτε δοῦλοι εἴτε ἐλεύθεροι, καὶ πάντες εἰς ἓν Πνεῦμα ἐποτίσθημεν. καὶ γὰρ τὸ σῶμα οὐκ ἔστιν ἓν μέλος, ἀλλὰ πολλά. ἐὰν εἴπῃ ὁ πούς, ὅτι οὐκ εἰμὶ χείρ, οὐκ εἰμὶ ἐκ τοῦ σώματος, — οὐ παρὰ τοῦτο οὐκ ἔστιν ἐκ τοῦ σώματος; καὶ ἐὰν εἴπῃ τὸ οὖς, ὅτι οὐκ εἰμὶ ὀφθαλμός, οὐκ εἰμὶ ἐκ τοῦ σώματος, — οὐ παρὰ τοῦτο οὐκ ἔστιν ἐκ τοῦ σώματος; εἰ ὅλον τὸ σῶμα ὀφθαλμός, ποῦ ἡ ἀκοή; εἰ ὅλον ἀκοή, ποῦ ἡ ὄσφρησις; νυνὶ δὲ ὁ Θεὸς ἔθετο τὰ μέλη ἓν ἕκαστον αὐτῶν ἐν τῷ σώματι καθὼς ἠθέλησεν. εἰ δὲ ἦν τὰ πάντα ἓν μέλος, ποῦ τὸ σῶμα; νῦν δὲ πολλὰ μὲν μέλη, ἓν δὲ σῶμα. οὐ δύναται δὲ ὀφθαλμὸς εἰπεῖν τῇ χειρί· χρείαν σου οὐκ ἔχω· ἢ πάλιν ἡ κεφαλὴ τοῖς ποσί· χρείαν ὑμῶν οὐκ ἔχω· ἀλλὰ πολλῷ μᾶλλον τὰ δοκοῦντα μέλη τοῦ σώματος ἀσθενέστερα ὑπάρχειν ἀναγκαῖά ἐστι, καὶ ἃ δοκοῦμεν ἀτιμότερα εἶναι τοῦ σώματος, τούτοις τιμὴν περισσοτέραν περιτίθεμεν, καὶ τὰ ἀσχήμονα ἡμῶν εὐσχημοσύνην περισσοτέραν ἔχει. τὰ δὲ εὐσχήμονα ἡμῶν οὐ χρείαν ἔχει. ἀλλ᾿ ὁ Θεὸς συνεκέρασε τὸ σῶμα, τῷ ὑστεροῦντι περισσοτέραν δοὺς τιμήν, ἵνα μὴ ᾖ σχίσμα ἐν τῷ σώματι, ἀλλὰ τὸ αὐτὸ ὑπὲρ ἀλλήλων μεριμνῶσι τὰ μέλη· καὶ εἴτε πάσχει ἓν μέλος, συμπάσχει πάντα τὰ μέλη, εἴτε δοξάζεται ἓν μέλος, συγχαίρει πάντα τὰ μέλη.

Dijo el Señor a sus discípulos: «Yo les aseguro que todo lo que aten en la tierra quedará atado en el cielo, y todo lo que desaten en la tierra quedará desatado en el cielo. Les aseguro también que si dos de ustedes se ponen de acuerdo en la tierra para pedir algo, sea lo que fuere, lo conseguirán de mi Padre que está en los cielos. Porque donde están dos o tres reunidos en mi nombre, allí estoy yo, en medio de ellos.» Pedro se acercó entonces y le preguntó: «Señor, ¿cuántas veces tengo que perdonar las ofensas que me haga mi hermano? ¿Hasta siete veces?» Le respondió Jesús: «No te digo hasta siete veces, sino hasta setenta veces siete.» Cuando acabó Jesús estos discursos, partió de Galilea y fue a la región de Judea, al otro lado del Jordán. Le siguió mucha gente, y los curó allí. Entonces le fueron presentados unos niños para que les impusiera las manos y orase; pero los discípulos les reñían. Mas Jesús les dijo: «Dejen que los niños vengan a mí; y no se lo impidan, porque de los que son como éstos es el Reino de los Cielos.» Y, después de imponerles las manos, se fue de allí. [BJ-SAOGM]
The Lord said to his disciples, “Truly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Again I say to you, if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven.” Now when Jesus had finished these sayings, he went away from Galilee and entered the region of Judea beyond the Jordan; and large crowds followed him, and he healed them there. Then children were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray. The disciples rebuked the people; but Jesus said, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them; for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” And he laid his hands on them and went away. [RSV]

Πάλιν ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι ἐὰν δύο ὑμῶν συμφωνήσωσιν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς περὶ παντὸς πράγματος οὗ ἐὰν αἰτήσωνται, γενήσεται αὐτοῖς παρὰ τοῦ πατρός μου τοῦ ἐν οὐρανοῖς. οὗ γάρ εἰσι δύο ἢ τρεῖς συνηγμένοι εἰς τὸ ἐμὸν ὄνομα, ἐκεῖ εἰμι ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῶν. Τότε προσελθὼν αὐτῷ ὁ Πέτρος εἶπε· Κύριε, ποσάκις ἁμαρτήσει εἰς ἐμὲ ὁ ἀδελφός μου καὶ ἀφήσω αὐτῷ; ἕως ἑπτάκις; λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς· οὐ λέγω σοι ἕως ἑπτάκις, ἀλλ᾿ ἕως ἑβδομηκοντάκις ἑπτά. Καὶ ἐγένετο ὅτε ἐτέλεσεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς τοὺς λόγους τούτους μετῆρεν ἀπὸ τῆς Γαλιλαίας καὶ ἦλθεν εἰς τὰ ὅρια τῆς Ἰουδαίας πέραν τοῦ Ἰορδάνου. καὶ ἠκολούθησαν αὐτῷ ὄχλοι πολλοί, καὶ ἐθεράπευσεν αὐτοὺς ἐκεῖ. Τότε προσηνέχθη αὐτῷ παιδία, ἵνα ἐπιθῇ αὐτοῖς τὰς χεῖρας καὶ προσεύξηται· οἱ δὲ μαθηταὶ ἐπετίμησαν αὐτοῖς. ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν· ἄφετε τὰ παιδία καὶ μὴ κωλύετε αὐτὰ ἐλθεῖν πρός με· τῶν γὰρ τοιούτων ἐστὶν ἡ βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν. καὶ ἐπιθεὶς τὰς χεῖρας αὐτοῖς ἐπορεύθη ἐκεῖθεν.
