Hermanos, el que crea estar en pie, mire no caiga. No han sufrido tentación superior a la medida humana; y fiel es Dios, que no permitirá que sean tentados por encima de sus fuerzas. Antes bien, junto con la tentación les proporcionará el modo de poderla resistir con éxito. Por eso, queridos, huyan de la idolatría. Les hablo como a personas sensatas. Juzguen ustedes lo que digo. La copa de bendición que bendecimos, ¿no es acaso comunión con la sangre de Cristo?; y el pan que partimos, ¿no es comunión con el cuerpo de Cristo? Entonces, si el pan es uno solo, también nosotros, aun siendo muchos, formamos un solo cuerpo, pues todos participamos del mismo pan. Fíjense en el Israel según la carne. Los que comían de las víctimas sacrificiales, ¿no estaban acaso en comunión con el altar? No piensen que estoy insinuando que lo inmolado a los ídolos es algo, o que los ídolos son algo, pues lo que inmolan los gentiles ¡lo inmolan a los demonios, y no a Dios! Y no quiero que entren en comunión con los demonios. No pueden beber de la copa del Señor y de la copa de los demonios; no pueden participar de la mesa del Señor y de la mesa de los demonios. ¿O es que queremos provocar los celos del Señor? ¿Somos acaso más fuertes que él? Brethren, let any one who thinks that he stands take heed lest he fall. No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your strength, but with the temptation will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it. Therefore, my beloved, shun the worship of idols. I speak as to sensible men: judge for yourselves what I say. The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not communion in the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not communion in the body of Christ? Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread. Consider the people of Israel: are not those who eat the sacrifices partakers of the altar? What do I imply then? That food offered to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything? No, I imply that what pagans sacrifice they offer to demons and not to God. I do not want you to be in communion with demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of the demons. You cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of the demons. Shall we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he? [RSV] |

Διόπερ, ἀγαπητοί μου, φεύγετε ἀπὸ τῆς εἰδωλολατρείας. ὡς φρονίμοις λέγω· κρίνατε ὑμεῖς ὅ φημι. τὸ ποτήριον τῆς εὐλογίας ὃ εὐλογοῦμεν, οὐχὶ κοινωνία τοῦ αἵματος τοῦ Χριστοῦ ἐστι; τὸν ἄρτον ὃν κλῶμεν, οὐχὶ κοινωνία τοῦ σώματος τοῦ Χριστοῦ ἐστιν; ὅτι εἷς ἄρτος, ἓν σῶμα οἱ πολλοί ἐσμεν· οἱ γὰρ πάντες ἐκ τοῦ ἑνὸς ἄρτου μετέχομεν. βλέπετε τὸν Ἰσραὴλ κατὰ σάρκα· οὐχὶ οἱ ἐσθίοντες τὰς θυσίας κοινωνοὶ τοῦ θυσιαστηρίου εἰσί; τί οὖν φημί; ὅτι εἴδωλόν τί ἐστιν; ἢ ὅτι εἰδωλόθυτόν τί ἐστιν; ἀλλ᾿ ὅτι ἃ θύει τὰ ἔθνη, δαιμονίοις θύει καὶ οὐ Θεῷ· οὐ θέλω δὲ ὑμᾶς κοινωνοὺς τῶν δαιμονίων γίνεσθαι. οὐ δύνασθε ποτήριον Κυρίου πίνειν καὶ ποτήριον δαιμονίων· οὐ δύνασθε τραπέζης Κυρίου μετέχειν καὶ τραπέζης δαιμονίων. ἢ παραζηλοῦμεν τὸν Κύριον; μὴ ἰσχυρότεροι αὐτοῦ ἐσμεν; |

En aquel tiempo: Jesús mandó a sus discípulos que no dijesen a nadie que él era el Cristo. Desde entonces comenzó Jesús a manifestar a sus discípulos que él debía ir a Jerusalén y sufrir mucho de parte de los ancianos, los sumos sacerdotes y los escribas; que le matarían y que resucitaría al tercer día. Pedro se lo llevó aparte y se puso a reprenderle diciendo: «¡Ni se te ocurra, Señor! ¡De ningún modo te sucederá eso!» Pero él, volviéndose, dijo a Pedro: «¡Quítate de mi vista, Satanás! ¡Sólo me sirves de escándalo, porque tus pensamientos no son los de Dios, sino los de los hombres! Entonces dijo Jesús a sus discípulos: «Si alguno quiere venir en pos de mí, niéguese a sí mismo, tome su cruz y sígame.» [BJ-SAOGM] |
At that time, Jesus strictly charged the disciples to tell no one that he was the Christ. From that time Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised. And Peter took him and began to rebuke him, saying, “God forbid, Lord! This shall never happen to you.” But he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; for you are not on the side of God, but of men.” Then Jesus told his disciples, “If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow me.” [RSV] |
Τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ διεστείλατο ὁ Ἰησοῦς τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ ἵνα μηδενὶ εἴπωσιν ὅτι αὐτός ἐστιν Ἰησοῦς ὁ Χριστός. Ἀπὸ τότε ἤρξατο ὁ Ἰησοῦς δεικνύειν τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ ὅτι δεῖ αὐτὸν ἀπελθεῖν εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα καὶ πολλὰ παθεῖν ἀπὸ τῶν πρεσβυτέρων καὶ ἀρχιερέων καὶ γραμματέων καὶ ἀποκτανθῆναι, καὶ τῇ τρίτῃ ἡμέρᾳ ἐγερθῆναι. καὶ προσλαβόμενος αὐτὸν ὁ Πέτρος ἤρξατο ἐπιτιμᾶν αὐτῷ λέγων· ἵλεώς σοι, Κύριε· οὐ μὴ ἔσται σοι τοῦτο. ὁ δὲ στραφεὶς εἶπε τῷ Πέτρῳ· ὕπαγε ὀπίσω μου, σατανᾶ· σκάνδαλόν μου εἶ· ὅτι οὐ φρονεῖς τὰ τοῦ Θεοῦ, ἀλλὰ τὰ τῶν ἀνθρώπων. Τότε ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπε τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ· εἴ τις θέλει ὀπίσω μου ἐλθεῖν, ἀπαρνησάσθω ἑαυτὸν καὶ ἀράτω τὸν σταυρὸν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀκολουθείτω μοι. |
