Por aquellos días, los apóstoles se volvieron a Jerusalén desde el monte llamado de los Olivos, que dista de Jerusalén el equivalente a un paseo permitido en sábado. Cuando llegaron, subieron a la estancia superior, donde vivían. Eran Pedro y Juan, Santiago y Andrés, Felipe y Tomás, Bartolomé y Mateo, Santiago el de Alfeo, Simón el Zelota y Judas de Santiago. Todos ellos perseveraban en la oración, con un mismo espíritu, en compañía de algunas mujeres, de María la madre de Jesús y de sus hermanos. Uno de aquellos días Pedro, puesto en pie ante los hermanos —ya que el número de personas congregadas con el mismo propósito era de unas ciento veinte—, les dijo: «Hermanos, era preciso que se cumpliera la Escritura, en la que el Espíritu Santo, por boca de David, había hablado ya acerca de Judas, que fue guía de los que prendieron a Jesús. Él era uno de los nuestros y había obtenido un puesto en este ministerio. Por tanto, es preciso que uno de los hombres que nos acompañaron todo el tiempo que el Señor Jesús convivió con nosotros, desde el bautismo de Juan hasta el día en que fue llevado de entre nosotros al cielo, sea con nosotros testigo de su resurrección.» Presentaron a dos: a José, llamado Barsabás, por sobrenombre Justo, y a Matías. Entonces oraron así: «Señor, tú que conoces a todos en su interior, muéstranos a cuál de estos dos has elegido para que ocupe en el ministerio del apostolado el puesto del que Judas desertó para irse al puesto que le corresponda.» Les repartieron las suertes y le cayó a Matías, que fue agregado al número de los doce apóstoles. In those days, the apostles returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a sabbath day’s journey away; and when they had entered, they went up to the upper room, where they were staying, Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot and Judas the son of James. All these with one accord devoted themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers. In those days Peter stood up among the brethren (the company of persons was in all about a hundred and twenty), and said, “Brethren, the scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke beforehand by the mouth of David, concerning Judas who was guide to those who arrested Jesus. For he was numbered among us, and was allotted his share in this ministry. So one of the men who have accompanied us during all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us, beginning from the baptism of John until the day when he was taken up from us-one of these men must become with us a witness to his resurrection.” And they put forward two, Joseph called Barsabbas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias. And they prayed and said, “Lord, who know the hearts of all men, show which one of these two you have chosen to take the place in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas turned aside, to go to his own place.” And they cast lots for them, and the lot fell on Matthias; and he was enrolled with the eleven apostles. Καὶ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ταύταις ἀναστὰς Πέτρος ἐν μέσῳ τῶν μαθητῶν εἶπεν· ἦν τε ὄχλος ὀνομάτων ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸ ὡς ἑκατὸν εἴκοσιν· ἄνδρες ἀδελφοί, ἔδει πληρωθῆναι τὴν γραφὴν ταύτην ἣν προεῖπε τὸ Πνεῦμα τὸ Ἅγιον διὰ στόματος Δαυῒδ περὶ Ἰούδα τοῦ γενομένου ὁδηγοῦ τοῖς συλλαβοῦσι τὸν Ἰησοῦν, ὅτι κατηριθμημένος ἦν σὺν ἡμῖν καὶ ἔλαχε τὸν κλῆρον τῆς διακονίας ταύτης. δεῖ οὖν τῶν συνελθόντων ἡμῖν ἀνδρῶν ἐν παντὶ χρόνῳ ἐν ᾧ εἰσῆλθε καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ἐφ᾿ ἡμᾶς ὁ Κύριος Ἰησοῦς, ἀρξάμενος ἀπὸ τοῦ βαπτίσματος Ἰωάννου ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ἧς ἀνελήφθη ἀφ᾿ ἡμῶν, μάρτυρα τῆς ἀναστάσεως αὐτοῦ γενέσθαι σὺν ἡμῖν ἕνα τούτων. Καὶ ἔστησαν δύο, Ἰωσὴφ τὸν καλούμενον Βαρσαββᾶν, ὃς ἐπεκλήθη Ἰοῦστος, καὶ Ματθίαν, καὶ προσευξάμενοι εἶπον· σὺ Κύριε, καρδιογνῶστα πάντων, ἀνάδειξον ὃν ἐξελέξω ἐκ τούτων τῶν δύο ἕνα, λαβεῖν τὸν κλῆρον τῆς διακονίας ταύτης καὶ ἀποστολῆς, ἐξ ἧς παρέβη Ἰούδας πορευθῆναι εἰς τὸν τόπον τὸν ἴδιον. καὶ ἔδωκαν κλήρους αὐτῶν, καὶ ἔπεσεν ὁ κλῆρος ἐπὶ Ματθίαν, καὶ συγκατεψηφίσθη μετὰ τῶν ἕνδεκα ἀποστόλων. |

En aquel tiempo: Jesús vino junto al mar de Galilea; subió al monte y se sentó allí. Entonces se le acercó mucha gente trayendo consigo cojos, lisiados, ciegos, mudos y otros muchos; los pusieron a sus pies, y él los curó. De suerte que la gente quedó maravillada al ver que los mudos hablaban, los lisiados quedaban curados, los cojos caminaban y los ciegos veían. Y alabaron al Dios de Israel. [BJ-SAOGM] |
At that time, Jesus passed along the Sea of Galilee. And he went up on the mountain, and sat down there. And great crowds came to him, bringing with them the lame, the maimed, the blind, the dumb, and many others, and they put them at Jesus'' feet, and he healed them, so that the throng wondered, when they saw the dumb speaking, the maimed whole, the lame walking, and the blind seeing; and they glorified the God of Israel. Τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ ἦλθεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς παρὰ τὴν θάλασσαν τῆς Γαλιλαίας, καὶ ἀναβὰς εἰς τὸ ὄρος ἐκάθητο ἐκεῖ. καὶ προσῆλθον αὐτῷ ὄχλοι πολλοὶ ἔχοντες μεθ᾿ ἑαυτῶν χωλούς, τυφλούς, κωφούς, κυλλοὺς καὶ ἑτέρους πολλούς, καὶ ἔρριψαν αὐτοὺς παρὰ τοὺς πόδας τοῦ Ἰησοῦ, καὶ ἐθεράπευσεν αὐτούς, ὥστε τοὺς ὄχλους θαυμάσαι βλέποντας κωφοὺς ἀκούοντας, ἀλάλους λαλοῦντας, κυλλοὺς ὑγιεῖς, χωλοὺς περιπατοῦντας καὶ τυφλοὺς βλέποντας· καὶ ἐδόξασαν τὸν Θεὸν Ἰσραήλ. |
